Jaeha was busy in his office taking care of the Guild’s business when his office phone rang.
It irritated him because his secretary knew better than to disturb him when he was working but he picked up the phone anyway.
“It better be a life or death situation, or else.”
“Boss, you better turn on the TV.”
Jaeha frowned but he turned on the TV – right at the time where he saw Moran grabbed Khan’s waist and jumped away from all the reporters – and he saw how Khan was laughing hard like he never saw him do it before.
Then the focus turned to the reporter.
“This is the footage of the new EX ranked Guide/Healer that’s affiliated with Sanctuary Guild. We still can’t determine the identity or the gender of the person, and right at this time, the Association still keeps quiet about it.”
Jaeha switched to the other channel but it was all the same view with different angles.
Unfortunately, not all reporters were acting nice toward the issue. Some of them even tried to incite the other Guild to protest and to share the Guide with them all, and that the person should be managed by the Association instead of the Sanctuary Guild. They even started to mention the nepotism within the Association and Sanctuary Guild – and that’s when Jaeha turned off the TV.
He already predicted this outcome when Moran appeared out of the blue. And while she had helped Khan, he knew that once the public found out about this, not everyone would rejoice – especially the Savior Guild.
He was about to make a public announcement regarding this issue, when the alarm on his bracelet sounded – a sign of a newly formed dungeon.
And when he checked the location, it was near the Association, so he quickly alerted the others and Khan about this.
Moran and Khan were eating at the place where Moran mentioned before.
The place was actually just a hole in the wall, but it always operated in full capacity because of their delicious food, generous portions, and affordable prices.
As a matter of fact, Moran always ate at this place before he became the number 1 assassin, and he became quite acquainted with the old lady who owned the place.
“This is really good.” Khan slurped his hangover soup and asked for a second. “I never knew this kind of place exists.”
Well, he always went to the high-end restaurant or had a private chef cook for him for all of his life, so the idea of eating out in this kind of place was foreign to him.
But the food was really good – warm, hearty, and satisfying – and he planned to visit more in the future, with Moran of course.
Moran also asked for a second when she noticed that the old lady was not around, but instead, her grandson was the one who moved around to keep up with the order. So when he delivered the food to their table, she asked him about the old lady.
“Is ahjumma around? I haven’t seen her.” She casually asked him. Thankfully the place was not too crowded at this time of the day, so he could spare them a moment.
“Ah, yes, actually my grandmother is… feeling under the weather lately, so I asked her to stay at the back and rest.” He smiled but Moran could see the gaunt in his overall expression and she decided to ask about it.
“Is anything wrong? I’m a long time customer of hers, and please do not hesitate to tell me if she has trouble with anything. Who knows that maybe I could be of help.”
The young man hesitated for a bit, but it seemed that the stress had put him under immense pressure and he needed to vent, so he took out the extra chair and spoke softly.
“Well, actually we’re about to lose this store and our home because grandma was swindled by some people a while back.” He sighed and suddenly he looked old and tired. “We only have a month to find a new place, but even with all of our savings and the meager compensation from the swindler, we can’t even rent another place – let alone continuing the business.”
The young man looked like he was about to cry then, but he held back and wiped his face hard.
“I’m sorry to bother you with our personal problem. I just want to help my grandmother since she was the one who raised me when I lost my parents. But apparently, I’m too young to be able to do anything.”
He looked like he was just a high school student, and Moran often saw him help the ahjumma after school. She knew how hard it was to lose everything, and she was about to offer to help them when Khan suddenly took out a card and gave it to him.
“Call this number later and tell him that Khan told you to do so. He will help you.”
Moran noticed that the namecard had Jaeha’s name on it and wondered if this kind of thing happened a lot – when suddenly her bracelet and Khan’s beeped loudly, a sign that a dungeon had formed near them.
Khan opened his bracelet and looked at Moran.
“It’s a C-ranked dungeon near here. You want to try closing it? Otherwise, I’ll leave it to the Association to clear it up.”
“You… don’t have to go into the dungeon?” Moran asked him. She still did not know about the requirement of who had to go into the dungeon, whether it was the closest Gifted or if there was anything else.
“A C-ranked dungeon is not dangerous enough, so most of the B or A ranked Gifted should be able to handle them with ease. But I think it’s a good idea if you want to try to clear it by yourself, to know more about your All Rounder ability.”
In fact, Khan was also curious about her mysterious ability since as far as he knew, the Guide ability usually only paired with Healer ability.
The person who was Gifted by the Guide/Healer ability was not supposed to have any offensive ability, thus the reason why they had to be in a party with other damage dealers and tanks to protect them.
But an All Rounder? And at the EX level? That was new.
He wanted to see first hand what the ability was, so that he could decide what to do with her in the future.
And it seemed that Moran was thinking about the same thing before she nodded.
“I want to clear the dungeon. It seems like a good idea, and I also want to know more about my ability.”
“I’ll inform Jaeha then. Let’s go.”
