We're In Love With A Mortal

3rd Person P.O.V

Gow had noticed her brother had been acting strange since she'd gotten her powers back from Savage. She knew he missed her a lot, but his whole personality was off. So she, being the amazing sister she is, walked through the hallway and stood in front of his bedroom door... before turning the knob so hard she breaks the lock.

She's the best sister. 😊

She walked in the room to see a disbelieved John. "Gow! You broke my door!" "Hello!~ Nice to see you again, dear brother." "...Nice to see you too- why are you here?" Gow went straight to the point. "Because... you've been acting WEIRD recently! I'm only concerned for your well-being, child." "...Don't call me that." "Yochanan." "Ugh! Get out of my room!" He threw his pillow at her, which she caught. "Nice try." He groaned in annoyance.

He turned his body around and pulled the covers over his head. Gow's smug expression faded as she sighed and used her powers to fix the lock on the door and locked it before she went and sat on his bed.

She put her hand on his body. He stole a glance at her. "...Whatever it is, I won't judge." He hesitated a bit before sighing and sitting up to face her. He was fidgeting with his hands in his lap as he kept eye contact with her nervously. "...I- Hypothetically, what if... a god... loved a mortal? And they were caught? Like... If I hypothetically fell in love with a hypothetical mortal and I hypothetically couldn't get the hypothetical thought of that hypothetical feeling out of my hypothetical head, what would I hypothetically do?"

Gow's ears pinned to her head. She loved a mortal... she knew that feeling... and she despised that rule... but she explained to him anyways. "...If a god were caught being intimate with a mortal? Well... first, the mortal would be sentenced to death, and sent to hell. At least from what I've heard." John's ears pinned to his head. "A-And the god?" Gow sighed, "Well... I don't know. They could be out-casted... or their godhood could be revoked completely. I've only heard rumors though, I'm not sure."

John gave her a sorrowful look. "...Oh." Gow caught on almost immediately. "...John? Do you... love a mortal?" John panicked a bit. "N-No! I-I was asking- um- s-simply for curiosity purposes! I-I-!" Gow quickly tried to calm him. "Hey, hey! It's alright! It's alright..." She placed her hands on his. "It's alright." She gave him a warm smile. "...Maybe I do love a mortal." He admitted in an embarrassed mumble.

Gow placed her right hand on his head, rubbing behind his ear, while her left hand was still on top of his hands, which were resting in his lap. "So... who is it?" John blushed and gulped. "Don't be afraid to tell me... I will never judge you. You know that." John took a deep breath and sighed.

"It's... It's Savage."

Gow's jaw dropped. She was utterly shocked. Savage? Her best friend?? She never would've thought. Especially because... Savage told her that... well...

So many thoughts ran through her mind. So many in fact, it took her 10 seconds to realize her brother was waving his hand in front of her face and saying her name. "Gow... Gow..!" She shook her head and came back to reality. "Y-Yeah?" "Are... are you ok?" She nodded with a 'sweet' smile. "Mhm..." She strained a smile. "You don't... look alright..." She sighed. "I know..."

She struggled to explain. "My best friend..? Savage? REALLY?!" "Yes! ...Are you mad at me?" "Mad?! No! I'm- well, I'm shocked! I just- SAVAGE?! I- Why?!" "Because! He's sweet, and kind, has a great heart-" "NOTHING about his appearance yet." "I'm GETTING there! Ok, he's a nice guy, cares about YOU a lot, and... he's cute." He blushed.

Gow sighed. She couldn't deny Savage was all of those things. It's why she liked him in the first place! Er- platonically! She gave him a genuine smile. "Ok... fine. If you love him- I mean TRULY love him... I'll support you." He smiled back. "Thank you, Gow..." He leaned forward and hugged her, which she returned the gesture.

She broke the hug first. "And... well, if it makes you more comfortable... I like a mortal too..." His eyes widened. "Really..?" She nodded. "Mhm... Sonic the hedgehog. But- not ANY Sonic... the Sonic of a particular universe... The Existenceverse." John grinned. "...Sonic, huh?" She smiled back. "I could say the same about Savage..."

The two chuckled. "...We're in love with a mortal."
