Naina stirred, blinking against the dim glow of the evening light filtering through the curtains.
She felt her head was resting against a firm, warm chest, and it hit her.
Everything that happened a few hours ago. Everything he did. But I had a dazey recollection of it.
Anyway, what the heck was wrong with him. He was sitting in the same position. What if it caused a sprain?
Naina! Let him have one. Why are you worrying about him?
Oh,and I was still sitting on his lap. F*ck.
Just as she was about to shift, she felt him stir.
His arms tightened slightly around her as he murmured, his voice a playful rumble, "Comfortable, aren't we?"
She found him looking down at her, his jaw slightly above her.
"Hmph" I sarcastically replied and dashed to the door.I was trained enough to at least to not fall for the same trick again.
"Accha, ji...?" He smirked. I could feel his gaze and it had a little softness hiding.
"Someone has to prepare for dinner," she stammered, realising that she was staring at him.
" I will sleep with the maids then, since you're so keen on taking their place."He chuckled, and just snuggled back to the bedsheet.
On the cold floor, for god's sake.
She glared at him, though a small smile played at her lips. He looked like a little sleepy baby.
With that, she turned and walked out, and as she banged the door purposefully she heard his voice.
" I deserve an explanation-"
My heart pounded for some reason as I almost tripped on the stairs.
Get a grip Naina.
"Naina!" Kriti exclaimed.
She immediately hugged me before I could reach the bottom of the stairs.
"Devrani ji, we have been waiting since lunch. Aap kahan tai?" Abhimanyu asked with a pout.
It felt really weird to be called 'devrani'. I was happy with my name and I didn't want to accept it.
He was Dhruv's cousin brother.
"Saas leno tho do bichari ko." Choti maa said, hitting kriti.
"Bichari nahi kal ki Maharani." She added as I touched her feet in respect.
"Naina, the food was out of this world. Aap ki rahas tho bataye." Kriti interrupted , patting my back.
"Pagal hai tu? Why would one spill their own secret?" Sahil objected as he barged in through the door.
