The sun shone as I looked outside the window. The streets around our mansion were  surrounded with  sprawling gardens filled with vibrant flowers, twinkling  lights, and shimmering water features that reflected  the soon to be  evening sky.

Everyone had sweets and decorations in their hands as they laughed and joked.

The wedding would take place at the Adren's  opulent mansion, adorned with intricate carvings and lavish features.

Our mansion was  transformed into a vibrant setting. Floral arrangements of marigolds, jasmine, and roses filled the halls.

The main hall was  draped in rich silks and adorned with golden accents, echoing the theme of royal luxury. Elaborate rangoli designs made of colored powders decorated the entrance, welcoming guests.

The array of sweets and the other aromas could be smelled from any corner of the inner Adren city.

Alas,it was not someone else's wedding for me to enjoy.

I felt a profound sadness wash over me

I felt a profound sadness wash over me. Our lives were now going to be  entwined , yet I felt more alone than ever. Why did he have to threaten? Was all he wanted was my Wind? No,then he wouldn't have mentioned the stone then.

I never wished for this day.

The room buzzed with excitement, a stark contrast to my inner turmoil. The maids fluttered around, adjusting fabrics and arranging jewels, their laughter echoing off the walls. I forced a smile, trying to blend into the cheerful atmosphere, but inside, I felt like a shadow—an unwilling participant in my own life.

As they draped the heavy lehenga over my shoulders, I felt the weight of the fabric pressing down on me, each layer a reminder of the threat looming over. The colors were vibrant—deep reds and golds—but to me, they felt like shackles, marking my transition from freedom to obligation.

I glanced at my reflection. The intricate designs on the lehenga were stunning, yet all I saw were  my eyes, typically bright and lively, were now shadowed with a hint of sorrow, their depth reflecting a tumult of emotions.

My hands trembled as the maids fastened the necklace around my neck, each clasp a tightening of the grip around my heart.

The final touches were made: a delicate veil adorned with pearls. I felt as if I were being buried beneath layers of expectation.

I couldn’t shake the feeling of being on display, an ornate doll dressed for a show that was not of my making.

The stone and Adren to see to its end was important. And this was just a small sacrifice towards it.It was nothing big just a small thing.

Yet,the weight of the  forced marriage loomed  like a dark cloud overhead.
