Dhruv's POV
Dhruv stirred from the edges of sleep, his body slightly waking before his mind fully caught up.
The early morning sent slight chills as he became aware of something really warm lying on his hand.
Naina, her body pressed softly against his, his arm draped over her waist.
The sensation of her skin beneath his hand, even through the thin fabric and covers, sent a lingering feeling on his chest.
She was warm and nice to hold onto in the morning cold.
Wait, why is she on my arm?
“Why is this…. here?”she said as soon as she opened her eyes.
Was it some vermin that she called it ‘this’ with such disgust?
“Madam, please open your eyes clearly and see which part of the bed you're sleeping at.” I coldly said as I realised. How could someone sleep so comfortablely ready to occupy the whole big bed and still question?
“Shit-” she murmured as she hurriedly left to change.
It seemed early so he wrapped the sheets and drifted off again.
Someone was poking a finger near my eye vigorously.I opened my eyes to her veiny hand.
“Uhm..” she whispered as she continued.
“Hmm..kya hua?” I whispered as I stared at her light brown eyes.
“You might be a little late.”
“Accha.Dhruv aur late?” I teasingly remarked.
The poking was so goddamn annoying.
“It's 9:30” she slowly whispered near my ear.
He had overslept for the first time, something quite unfamiliar for this early bird.. Now he hurried in, his anger slightly going up.
“Chachu, pata hai aaj ka khana kaisa tha?” Nikhil said dashing to me in a hurry.
Lifting him in my arms I said “Itna kharab tha, kya?”
“Nahi toh.Aakhir toh Bhabhi ne banaya na.” Sahil objected.
That's when the aroma hit my nose.It smelled nice and seemed to fill the whole house.
“Aur bhaisabh ko aaj hi late ho na tha.” Papa taunted from down.
I climbed down the stairs and saw her. Naina stood near the table, her fingers tracing the edge of a silver platter she had just placed.
Ma hit my head from the back “Bechari khayi bhi nahi. Jaldi jaa na.”
“Ma yaar.Ek din.Haan…sirf ek din.” I said as I waved them goodbye.
“Take care of her properly.Don't come late and make her wait.” Ma said at the door.
“Mere baccha, kuch hua toh bata de na.Hum dekhlenge.” Papa said to Naina while giving me a glare.
“Bye bye Nana.Bye Nani.” Nikhil shouted in my arms.
“Chalo phir.Humme school ja na hai na Nikhil?” Sahil said, grabbing him slowly from my arms.
As Nikhil pouted with bhai, di said “Hum ja rahe hai Dhruv,Naina.Aaj choti ma sabh wapas aayenge. Unke kyhal rakhna, tikhe.”
Sahil smirked as he left “Tab thak All the best. Bye Bhabhi.”
I glared at him as they left.Soon I found myself alone with her.
