"Max, hurry the hell up! They're gonna be here anytime soon!"

Andrew rushed his little brother as he quickly ran down the stairs and into the kitchen, pulling the ham from the oven, and throwing off his oven mitts.

"Fuck.. he muttered as he looked down at his now charred oven mitts."

These were my favorite ones.

Max stomped over to Andrew and pinched his back.

"Stop yelling. It's not that important."

He had his hands on his hips as Andrew complained.

"Ow! It is important! Vivian's gonna be here any minute and you just-"

Suddenly the doorbell rang and Andrew flipped out, grabbing the tinsel from the box on the counter and throwing it at Max.

"Hurry up, throw this on the stairs!"

Meanwhile...

"Do you think they would like this?"

I held up a scented candle and showed it to Ms. Chen.

She walked over and smelled it, a smile appearing on her face.

"It smells wonderful. I think she'll love it!"

I smiled at her, putting it in my cart.

"Great!" I looked around some more, walking to one of the aisles.

"You think they're good on food?"

Ms. Chen nodded.

"I talked to Elizabeth earlier and she said they'd be good. I'm gonna grab some drinks though, just in case."

I nodded as I walked past the utensils aisle.

I spotted some cute oven mitts that were Christmas patterned.

I smiled softly, remembering the time Andrew burst into the room wearing his own mitts and laughed, picking them up and putting them in the cart as well.

"I think I'm just about done."

She nodded and we walked over to checkout. I put my items down first.

It's so much fun getting to buy things with my own money. Ever since I got a job at the supermarket, I've been able to buy my things instead of Ms. Chen doing so for me.

It's a nice sense of independence and accomplishment.

The cashier scanned my items, one by one putting them in a bag.

A car lego set, A marshmallow & pumpkin scented candle, a plumb scented perfume, a copy of the book "If I Said, "I Loved You", a throw blanket, and a pair of oven mitts.

I smiled as I paid for my items and Ms. Chen paid for hers after all her items were scanned.

It wasn't much, just a bottle of apple cider, a Christmas card, and a pack of seltzers.

We walked out of the shop and packed our stuff into the car, heading over to Andrew's house.

We're gonna be a little bit late.

Now, back to the house of chaos.

Andrew quickly sprayed on some cologne and ran to the door, fixing his hair as he slid through the house in his Christmas-patterned socks.

"Coming!"
