When Leah met Alexia

The Decision and Dinner

Leah's pov

Everyone is sat waiting, staring anxiously at lex. My heart feels like it's beating out of my chest. I know the girls at arsenal did everything they could to make lex feel welcomed I mean if we get her it will be the biggest signing anyone could have in the WSL. But at the same time I know how good Chelsea are, I mean I will always say London is red but with the awards it is blue. That is something I would never say out loud.

"Okay okay...so the team I've chosen and who I've signed with is" alexia says then leaves us in suspense

"Omg ale say it" alba moans causing me to laugh at alexia's stern face towards her and her pointing her finger.

"Arsenal" she says and I can see she holds her breath.

Speechless. I'm speechless. We did it. We shown her what family was and how at arsenal we are all family but I know the backlash I will get from this. I know that people will believe that she signed for me and I really hope that's not the case.

I watch as her mum and Alba hug her and then my mother joins. I wait my turn and I stand up and straighten my pants out. I look up at lex and she's smiling, tears brim my eyes I'm so happy. I mean how could I not be, my girl has seen how and why I love arsenal so much.

"Baby you okay?" She asks

"Yes more than anything....thank you" is all I whisper in her ear.

"No thank you. I mean from the day we met you shown me what family feels like and looks like. When I went to arsenal you left me too it and I was welcomed like it was Barca. It was family and everyone wanted not what was best just for me but for them too. They made sure I fit in and I fit in where I was needed. Chelsea didn't do that they wanted to make me their star just like Barca and I'm sick of the media attention I just want to play football and have fun and I know with arsenal I can do that"

I listen to what she says and tears fall, my girl my everything will be with me every day. She will show the world why arsenal is the best and I can't wait to see her shine. I lean in and kiss her softly.

Lexs pov

After mine and Leah's little heart to heart I face time Mapi but it goes to answer phone which is weird. I try with Ingrid and the same I dunno something isn't right. I ignore that for now and I head to the table where my mother starts to prepare the food.

"Albs when is this mystery guest arriving" I ask

Leah's ears pick up on the conversation.

"She will be here in a minute ale, be nice please she's not as loud as us"

"What do you mean by that?"

"She's a little shy till you get to know her, be nice please"

"She will Albs don't worry" Leah nudges me. That's when the door bell rings.

"Omg she's here, everyone act normal" alba fusses which makes me laugh. Leah wraps her arms round my neck and we kiss and cuddle. God I love this girl.

I hear foot steps.

"Guys this is...."

"Alessia" Leah says shocked.

"Hey Leah" she blushes.

Leah's pov

OMG. I mean Alessia. Is this why she spoke to me in Spain about buying flowers for someone's mother. I mean I thought she was straight. I'm in shock I won't lie, I mean wow.

"Leah close your mouth" lex whispers to me which makes me glare at her and smirk.

"Ale, this is Alessia I think you may have met. She has already met mama and I'm guessing Amanda you know her aswell"

I watch as my mother greets less and then lex stands and hugs less. Eli follows and I just sit there like a garden gnome.

"Leah greet less" my mother says sternly.

I stand. "Welcome to my...I mean our home" I smile I give less a smirk and she blushes.

"I....thank you for having me" she smiles

"Our home" lex questions.

"Well yeah I mean you will be living here won't you" I bite my lip which makes lex roll her eyes and just nod. I lean over "use your words"

"Yes" is all she can whisper.

As Eli and my mother chat lex asks less questions and less answers them all holding albas hand throughout. I mean I need to speak with less but I'll wait. I listen in lexs hand on my thigh and alba mentioning to less about lex signing for arsenal which we tell her is a secret for now. Fuck it I need to grab less for a chat.

"Less you okay to come with me a second?" I ask

"Oh erm yes Leah" she says I walk her out into our family room more like the movie room. I take a seat and less does aswell.

"Okay so sorry I was in such shock but excuse me if I'm being rude but I thought you was straight" I said it, I had too.

Less laughs.

"Everyone does but it's never come up. I met alba in Spain and I'd been single about a year. We got on like friends I mean you was there. Then the night of Ushuaia we hit it off. I asked her on a date and we went from there"

"So she was the one who you met the mother of?" I question.

"Yes when I seen you going out with alexia I had to ask, I look up to you Leah always have and I respect everything you say so I took a shot to ask for advice and it worked" she smiled.

"What about the long distance though less"

"Well I'm hoping alba will stay but if not I'll make it work, I mean you and lex did"

I smile.

"I'm happy for you less, welcome to the family"

"Thanks Leah but can I ask that we keep it quiet for a bit I mean I'm not out to the media yet"

"Of course but you know where I am"

With that we hug and then join the rest of the family. I sit next to lex and she leans over.

"All okay"

"More than okay, and with all this good news I can't wait to show you your present later" I whisper and kiss lex softly, feeling her hands grip my thigh.
