When Leah met Alexia

First day jitters

Lexs pov

As I stretch out in bed Leah wrapped up in my arms I can't help but feel at peace. I have everything, new job, a beautiful home, Leah, the best family and friends and nala will be here soon aswell. But why did I feel like this, like I'd been hit with a stick of anxiety? Was I nervous? I'm never nervous I trust my self 100% in my skills in my profession but was that just at Barca? I lay my hands draped around le my heart feels like it's pounding out of my chest and I feel like I can't breathe like my chest is getting tighter. Fuck. I sit bolt up right throwing Leah to the side instantly waking her.

"Woa baby what is it" Leah gasps her eyes barely open but her instinct is to help me.

"I...can't...breathe" I gasp, my eyes watering fuck.

"Baby listen to me your having a panic attack" I turn and face Leah.

"Look at me now tell me four things you can see" she says softly

"You, clock, door, window" I say through heavy breaths

"Good now three things you can touch"

"You, bedsheets, me" I say softly

"Yes and now two things you can hear"

"Clock, you" I say as my breathing starts to steady.

"Okay now one thing you can taste"

This makes me smirk as my breathing is back to normal.

"You" I whisper. I watch as le bites her lip. Then she clears her throat.

"Yes well yes but lex stop....do you feel better" she asks.

"Yes how did you know how to do that?"

"I get anxiety attacks aswell it's normal baby, but if you feel it happening again just find me or do what I just said okay"

"Thanks baby" I smile.

Leah's pov

Alexia waking up with an anxiety attack I won't lie scared me but also surprised me I mean I never thought of alexia nervous or anxious. The fact she listened to me and trusted everything I said made me so happy. The love I hold towards this woman is second to none and I know that my decision was right and that I must put it into a plan and make it happen.

As we head into training lex holds my thigh as I drive us through to the parking lot.

"You ready for your first day?"

"More than ready, I'm home le"

Smile, I mean I've never smiled as big lex feeling like she's home warms my heart.

"Good and I have a good feeling you will settle in and be playing by weekend."

"Don't be silly they won't play me straight away"

"You never know baby but don't hold back the girls and I need to be out through our paces"

"Oh I won't le but with you maybe a little I mean I'll need to put your paces at home" I watch as she undresses me with her eyes.

"Alexia Putellas now get your head out of the gutter" I snap getting out of the car.

"And into my knickers" I whisper to myself giggling.

"What was that le"

"I said let's go" I smile.

Lexs pov

As we walk through the doors I'm greated by a camera which I guess will go on their instagram.

"Hola alexia"

"Hola" I smile giving a small wave to the camera and then wrapping my arm around Leah. Who just smiles.

"Excited for your first training session"

"Can't wait to bring some Spanish fire to the team" I wink at the camera and head through the doors where I'm greated by Winnie.

"Oh my girl how amazing do you look today" I say and get on the floor with her. Her tail wagging and her laying down for belly rubs.

"Nala is going to love her right" I head Leah say.

"Oh boy isn't she just" I smile up at my girl.

"Right come on we need to change and train" Leah holds her hand out for me.

As we walk through the corridors we head to the locker room and there it was my name in between Beth and Caitlin and straight facing Leah.

"Oh look at this a cubby with a view" I wink at Leah as she is starting to undress.

"Enough bonita" she blushes.

As I sit and take in the room the door flys open and the girls come trailing in and that's when I see her.

"Hola Mariona" I say softly as her heads in her phone. I watch as she looks up and she smiles widely then she darts to me her arms open and I take her in a hug.

"Hola la reina, how excited I am to have another Barca player here"

"How you settling in" I ask

"Great, more relaxed than Barca.....you will be happy" she smiles.

I can't help but find peace with what she said. Hopefully less stressed that I was before. Now I'm not captain and I feel like I have the weight of the world lifted from me.

Training went as well as you can imagine I felt welcomed and pushed to my paces. Stolen glances from Leah helped as well and my god did I feel at peace. Katie the girl with the thick accent I like she's funny and she knows how to find me on the field which always helps. I seem to find link ups and I've been able to bring some of barcas best kept secrets to the pitch and they have worked well.

"Alexia have you got a second" Renee shouts as we walk back to the changing rooms to end the day.

"Of course boss" I smile

I watch a smile appear on her face like she's not been called that before.

"You played well today, fitted in and tactically it was perfection. I knew when Mariona joined we seen a shift but with you both together it's magical. Keep it up and maybe you'll make your debut sooner than you think"

"Thank you, and thank you for all you do" I smile as I join the team in the changing room.

"You all good" Leah asks a towel wrapped round her and my god how I wish it wasn't there.

"Perfect baby" I kiss her softly.

"Okay enough of that lovey dovey shit, let's go for food celebrate your first day" Katie comes over engulfing me in a side hug.

"Lovey dovey?" I question.

Katie laughs and Leah walks off. I'm confused, English phrases are hard sometimes.
