Part 8

Time skip to Sunday night

As Casey and I discuss what movie to watch she suddenly blurts out screaming loudly

"OH! I've got one! What about Candy Man! I've been meaning to watch it but every time I get to the rental place it's not there I'm starting to think that Tandy guy has a grudge against me for something. Buttt now that you're hereeeee. Pretty please!!!"

As she pouts making me sigh knowing I have a hard time resisting that look. I rub my brow annoyed frowning not wanting to run into randy or anyone in that group.

"Fine! I'll find a way to get it. Happy?"

She smiles sitting back up

"Oh my gosh thank you your the best! Thank you! Thank you! thank you! Muah muah muah."

I swat at her playful laughing

"hey no need for all of that I do what I can for pretty blondes after all."

She smiles putting her hands together knowing she convinced me. She laughs before replying with a smile.

"you're just so sweet to me. If I didn't have Steve you'd be next in line."

I laugh a bit startled by the flirt but not surprised when thinking about it knowing she's completely joking.

I sit up straight amused

"Oh really? Well I take honor butttt you know I couldn't do that to Stu" winking at her

She dramatically gasp as if hurt "oh my how dare you betray me by bringing him up. We promised did we not?"

I such as if pretending to think before teasing her and sighing

"Oh my it seems we did how could I have ever forgotten? Soooo I want you to pick the movie again and before you ask no child's play, Freddy Krueger, or Halloween".

Casey pouts responding dramatic

"But we haven't watched it since I last saw you in person last year. I want to watch Halloween with you. How are you still sick of it?"

I sarcastically reply tired of the movie Halloween

"I don't know case it may be because you've made me watch it 40 times."

She sits upright clutching chest

"But the movie was just so could I couldn't help it!"
She admits defeat sighing "fine what movie then? Just go over and check the stack. I don't really have a lot of preferences except for those three movies."

I reply joking "Well we could watch Carrie I haven't watched it yet. Despite what's to be believed I waited as I promised, did you?"

She sighs trying to hold her smile "I did too. I'm just a good friend like that. Steve's tried to watch it with me at least 10 times."

Kind of took aback forgetting what it was like to have such a good friend but trying to act like it doesn't matter much despite tearing up inside
"well thank you, I really appreciate it"

Casy frowns noticing the mood switch but not commenting on it

I sigh guiltily "I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring the mood down. I just forgot what it was like to have such a good friend... I guess I kind of didn't notice what I had when I did"

Casy replies simply "well you know I don't blame you for leaving. I would do the same if I could. I just am stuck here until I graduate, I was glad you got out. That your parents took you with them and you got to see other things you don't get to in this small town."

I swallow acting nonchalant eyes on my hands "I didn't meant to ignore you, you know that right? I just had a lot going on I replied when I could."

Casey smiles simply "I know I'm just glad you did reply when you could. Plus I'm sure it brought out some bad memory's. Woodsboro is such a gossipy town.
She continues softer "I'm sorry that Woodsboro has been so cruel to you. You've never deserved what they've said about you. "

I smile not really knowing what to say looking at her now "yea? Look at you being so sweet to me. Are you sure you're not planning on breaking up with Steve any time soon?"

Casy shakes her head shrugging playfully
"Who's to say?"

I flirt "well if you do remember to wait for me I'll give you the best date of your life"

Casey smiles widely playfully "I'll wait of course. Who could ever take your place?"

I hum grinning "that's true no one could"
  I hand her Carrie and she puts in the vhs pressing play before we sit on the couch watching it.

I speak up "sooo when are we getting Candy Man"

Casey speaks up looking slightly guilty "it's gonna be your first day of school..I'm making you Tuesday and I can't go with you. I already promised Steve we'd hang as you do something for a bit. Plus you already know that if you run into the Tandy guy he's gonna tell everyone and it's gonna be a long talk about you leaving and honestly you may even get kidnapped by Billy or Stu hell maybe even both."

I wince "ok Casey that doesn't make me want to do this more. Plus I don't need Sidney showing up. Especially not if I'm in Billies arms struggling."

Casey sighs "sorry I realize that what I said if anything made it much more worrying but don't forget about the Saturn girl."

My brows furrow confused "Saturn girl? There's no one with that in the group hell I don't even think anyone is interested in space at all."

Casey thinks for a moment "it's a girl and she has like red hair every time I walk past she like looks at me all weird it's like girl I broke up with Stu you can have him."

Recognition dawns on me and I laugh "are you talking about Tatum? You realize how off you were right?"

Casey now smiling "yes that's the one! And well what can I say I don't care to pay much attention as she death glares me for simply walking."

I hum "if anything she should be thankful if you never broke up with him she'd never have Stu and I think deep down she knows that."

Casey sighs "I know right? She's not thankful at all. Like I promise I don't want him I'm perfectly fine in my relationship thank you."

I turn to the tv remembering and slightly sleepy thinking of an excuse hoping she'll let it pass.
"Well we completely got distracted from the movie we've missed like the entire thing. Might as well turn it off."
I stand turning off the dvd before the prom scene begins.

Casey nods standing "I'm gonna get ready for bed."

I softly smile at her back as she walks away to get ready "ok have a good night Case."
