I wake and it's still dark outside.

I sit up and look around. I hear a faint tapping.

I climb out of bed and try to not wake Kakashi. I walk out into the living room and the sound is louder.

My heart thrashes in my chest when I find it's coming from the door.

I approach slowly and silently.

I unlock and open the door.

Standing in the hallway is Kabuto.

I grab his arm and pull him in.

"What are you doing here?" I ask closing the door back.

"I hear you were looking for us. Well here I am." He says.

"It's my chakra. Something's wrong with it." I say.

"Wrong? When did this happen?" He asks.

"I'm not sure. But recently." I say.

"And does Kakashi know?" Kabuto asks.

"Yes, he was there." I say.

"The hidden rain is going to need a strong leader. Not someone who can't control their chakra. What do you think will happen if people find this out?" Kabuto says.

I shake my head.

"You know what will happen." He says.

"It won't— I'm not going to have that happen anymore." I say.

"But it's how you got your title. Yes?" He says.

"That's different. I had no choice." I say.

"And killing the leaders? What choice was that?" He argues.

"We both know. They were going to push towards the land of fire. That would've done no good." I say.

"So you admit then?" He says.

"Don't be ridiculous Kabuto." I say.

"You think your little secret will stay hidden long enough? Long enough for people to forget?" He asks.

"I'm done with your act." Kabuto says.

"If you need my help you're going to need to explain." He adds.

"No." I say.

Kakashi walk out of the bedroom.

"What's going on?" He asks.

Kabuto speaks before I can react.
"Your dear Akari has been quite the troublesome girl."

Kakashi looks to me then back at Kabuto.

"How so?" He asks Kabuto.

"Didn't you ever wonder how Akari has stayed alive all this long? How seemingly every enemy fails to kill her? Or maybe you're still trying to wrap your head around her rescue by members of the Akatsuki?" Kabuto says in his teasing manner.

Kakashi looks down at me.
His face emotionless.

His eyes trace back to Kabuto.

"How?" He asks.

"It was all her." Kabuto says.

"The break to freedom, the killing of the leaders, the bond with the akatsuki, the leading to my lord Orochimaru. All planned." Kabuto says.

Kakashi shakes his head in disbelief.

"And another thing Kakashi, did you ever ask Akari about her time with lord Orochimaru?" Kabuto asks.
