The early morning sun streamed through the slats of the blinds, casting slivers of golden light across the floor of Azriel's modest apartment. The warmth of the light coaxed him out of his slumber, pulling him from the depths of a dreamless night. Slowly, he opened his eyes, blinking against the brightness of the new day. He could feel the weight of anticipation pressing against his chest—today was his first day at Kuoh High School, a school known for its unique student body and mysterious happenings.
Stretching out his lean body, he swung his legs over the edge of the bed and sat up. The apartment was simple but comfortable, with an industrial aesthetic that matched his reserved nature. A quick glance at the clock confirmed it was still early enough to have a light breakfast, so he stood and made his way to the small kitchen, the sound of his footsteps echoing off the hardwood floors.
As he prepared a quick meal, his mind wandered to the life awaiting him at Kuoh High. He wasn't here for ordinary reasons—his true identity, the purpose of his presence in this strange new world, was something he kept hidden. For now, all that mattered was fitting in, keeping a low profile, and taking the next steps on a journey that could spiral into something far beyond his control.
Breakfast finished and backpack packed, he headed out the door and walked the short distance to the school. It wasn't long before the towering gates of Kuoh High appeared before him, the iconic gates gleaming in the morning light. As he walked past, he couldn't help but notice the curious glances from students already gathered by the entrance, whispering among themselves about the new transfer student.
The first bell rang just as he entered the main building, and the halls quickly filled with the bustle of students making their way to class. He glanced at the map he had been given and found his way to the assigned homeroom. Room 2-B.
When Azriel walked into the classroom, the noise died down for a split second. It wasn't that he had a commanding presence—far from it—but his appearance was striking. His H/C messy hair fell around his face in just the right way, and his sharp E/C eyes, shimmered with depth, held a certain coldness that intrigued those who noticed him. He had a tall, lean frame that exuded quiet strength, and his posture radiated an air of indifference to everything going on around him.
As Azriel entered the room, a few heads turned, their gazes lingering on him longer than they probably should have. The girls in the room, especially, couldn't help but notice. His calm, aloof demeanor was at odds with his raw handsomeness, making him both intriguing and unattainable.
"Ah, the new student," the teacher, a middle-aged woman with short, brown hair, said, snapping everyone out of their momentary daze. She turned to Azriel with a welcoming smile. "You must be Y/N L/N. Welcome to 2-B. Please introduce yourself."
Y/N stood at the front of the class for a moment, feeling every set of eyes on him. His gaze flickered briefly over the students, and he gave a small nod, his voice quiet but clear.
"Name's Y/N L/N. I'm just here to study," he said, keeping his tone neutral, his words calculated and precise.
The class, however, didn't seem to care much for his quiet demeanor. Their attention was already elsewhere. Whispers spread like wildfire—mostly from the girls, who were taking mental notes on every detail of his appearance. His strong jawline, his brooding eyes, and the way he moved with an effortless grace. It was enough to make many of them blush and giggle behind their hands.
"Seems like he's one of those guys," murmured one girl, her friend nodding eagerly.
"I heard he's a transfer from a private school," another girl whispered, peering at him from over her notebook. "Do you think he has a girlfriend?"
