Something's Wrong with
Mk

YOU CLIMBED AS fast as you could to reach Mk. You knew he was risking his life going up through the Pagoda by himself. After all, it was filled with many dangerous demons.

While climbing up, a floating purple eye suddenly appeared in front of you. Your reflexes were too swift that you pulled your sword out and sliced it into pieces, "What was that?" You thought as you continued to climb up to get to Mk. Another eye came out of nowhere, shining bright purple. You cut it with ease just like the previous one.

"A demon..." You trailed of, reaching one of the top floors. You could see more of those eyes floating around, this was the demon's lair. Your mint green eyes widened when you saw Mk floating in the air with one big purple eye in front of him, sucking his energy out of his body. His form was flickering uncontrollably to his monkey form and he was groaning as if fighting this force, "More, more deeper memories!" You heard the demon say in a deep voice.

"Mk!"

When you called out, the eyes all turned to you stare at you before the demon revealed itself as the Hundred Eye Demon.

"Don't move! l'm not finished with him yet!"

The demon exclaimed as the eyes glared at you. Your face went blank and prepared to fight this demon to free Mk, "Mist Breathing: Second Form: Eight-Layered Mist." You performed eight swift slashes in quick succession. You needed to destroy all those eyes in order to save Mk.

"Mist Breathing: Sixth Form: Lunar Dispersing Mist!" You leaped into the air and performed a multitude of slashes in a somersaulting motion, decimating dozens of those eyes at once. For a long while, you continued to fight those endless eyes, feeling yourself getting exhausted more and more. Just then, Wukong and the others joined you, "Mk! Y/N!" Monkey King exclaimed, seeing you fight alone.

You turned your head around, seeing your friends there, "Let's help Y/N, everyone!" Mei stated before they started to help you with those eyes. They all started to help you, destroying the eyes one after another.

Meanwhile, Wukong was fighting against the demon, but he got pushed away. You gripped your sword tight in your hand, pondering what to do next. Everyone was busy handling those eyes which were so much already, even Macaque was finding difficulty. Monkey King went back to the fight, aiming for the eye that held Mk. He was trying so hard to destroy it, but it seemed that Mk's memories were giving him more and more power, "Mk! Wake up!" Monkey King shouted as he kicked that eye with all his force. You wanted so desperately to save Mk and the only way to do that was by beating the Hundred Eye Demon. There was one option left for you to do if you really wanted to save your friend.

Making up your decision, you finally decided to do the thing you didn't want to do at all after a long time, "Mist Breathing: Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds." You mumbled and moved with grace towards the demon, but this time... it felt different. You felt your movement were more focused and faster than usual. Your vision became sharper and you could see the the Transparent World. Your only goal was to save him, you had to save Mk no matter what.

You had finally activated your mark.

You moved around the demon, disorienting him more and more as mist covered his vision. The Hundred Eye Demon was no longer able to see you, his head moving around rapidly to spot you. The Monkie Kids noticed this as well, looking around in puzzlement. You suddenly appeared behind the demon and brought your sword on his neck, decapitating him completely. The moment the demon was defeated, Mk snapped out with a powerful blast then fell down. Before he could hit the ground, you caught him and landed down safely.

You could feel him breathing heavily and his body was slightly shaking, "Mk, are you alright?" You asked him gently, trying to soothe him. Before you could react, Mk hugged you tightly. He was... crying. Wukong approached you two with a look of worry, "Mk." He spoke up then stared at you as if asking you what was going on. Sandy and the other joined in a group hug to comfort their friend, even Macaque was pulled along by Sandy, "MK is saved." Sandy spoke up in an assuring way.

"I still haven't..." The boy said then pulled away from the hug, "There's still one more stone." He added, wiping his tears.

"At the top? Are you sure?" Mei asked him, feeling concerned about her best friend. Mk gazed down with a hint of hesitation before forcing a smile, "I'm sure." With that being said, Mk raised his hand up to the ceiling and his eyes shining gold. A secret passageway leading to the last stone opened in the ceiling. He then looked at you all with a sad smile, "It's calling me." He uttered without any explanation, summoning his staff. Your eyes met Mk's for a moment, "I'm sorry, Y/N. It seems that I won't get a chance to experience new things together as I dreamed." Mk thought before using his staff to launch himself up to the top floor of the Pagoda.

Wukong summoned his cloud and was about to follow him, but you quickly jumped on with him, "I'm coming with you." You stated firmly, earning a nod from the Monkey King. Thankfully, you two made it there just when Mk was approaching the Jade Emperor's power core. You two jumped in front of him, "Stop. You know what happened with Azure." Wukong tried to stop him, but Mk pushed him away and continued to move.

"It doesn't matter what that demon did."

"Mk, you don't have to do this. We can work together to find another way." You told him, watching Mk getting closer to the protected power. Macaque also joined you two shortly.

"No, it really reminds me of something. I've long forgotten those things. Five colored stones. Pillars of Heaven and how to save the world." His voice and smile turned more confident now.

"You've been deceived! No one can predict the future." Wukong said.

"Mk, just listen!" You joined the Monkey King, trying your hardest to make him stop. However, he turned his back to you and faced the Jade Emperor's power, "I'm sorry. This is the only way." And just like that, Mk put his hands on the protective barrier that kept the power safe. You stood there frozen while both Macaque and Wukong went to stop Mk. They got blasted away when the barrier broke just as Mei and her friends came. The core was now fully unprotected, "Mk, don't do this!" You exclaimed and moved to grab him, but it was too late.

The Jade Emperor's power got bigger like before when you all fought Azure, a strong wind pushing you all back. A powerful blast was sent to Mk and you could hear him struggling, "Mk!" You and Wukong called out in unison, but the teen could no longer hear you.

The last thing you heard from Mk was a loud scream as he got engulfed into the bright blast. You just hoped that he would be alright knows what he was doing.
