Cowboys Like Me Do - Zach Top

"Dylan, cmon it's just a concert." You sigh, your eyes stuck on your boyfriend and his best friend. "You knew I bought these tickets for my birthday."

He rolls his eyes. "But it's game day."

"You knew that when you agreed to go with me!" You're so tired of having the same fight over and over again with him. "It's literally a reunion tour for a band that I wanted to see for my birthday."

"Yes, I know- I know it's your damn birthday! I know you bought the tickets and I know it's for Alabama!" He suddenly shouts at you, causing you to snap your mouth shut and you to shrink in on yourself. "You knew it was on a Friday. You knew it's during football season and you knew that Georgia is playing Alabama."

"But you-"

"Forget it, (Y/N)! I'm not going."

Tears form in your eyes as Dylan gets up from his camping chair and storms into the house.

Zach, his best friend, sighs and shakes his head. "Hey." He says softly. "I'll go with you."

"Oh please." You wipe the tears from your flushed cheeks. "I don't need a pity date."

"No, no." Zach sits next to you, an arm around your shoulders for comfort. "Not a pity date. It's your birthday. We're gonna celebrate it by going to this concert and getting food."

You look up at him and chuckle. "You don't have to."

"I know I don't have to. I want to. No one should be alone on their birthday, (Y/N)."

You catch him off guard with a tight hug. "Thank you, Zach."

"No problem."

You and Zach make it to the venue. He keeps a hand on the small of your back to guide you through the crowd up to the barricade, staying close to you incase anyone tries anything creepy.

You grin when the band takes the stage, squealing to yourself as they start with Mountain Music, your favorite. Zach keeps his hands on either side of yours while you hold onto the barricade, bouncing and singing along.

You hear Zach singing with you and turn, singing face to face with two huge matching grins. He belts it out with you, laughing and dancing with you. He spins you around then dips you.

You're so damn happy you decided to go to the concert with Zach.

What a great birthday.
