Trigger Warning for mentions of parental abuse, and experimentation on a child.

Augustine felt his heart racing as he stood in the garden under the tree. Pacing back and forth as he waited for Winnie. He wondered how Winnie would react if he knew the truth. Not just living with demons, but his true form. His actual form. Though he did fear how Winnie would react. Would he call angels on him? Try to kill him? Augustine feared for his life. Yet he was determined to talk about it at the very least. If it worked for Vincent and Rody it may work for him. Even if it's a friendship like Amiel said. As soon as he heard footsteps he snapped his head around. There stood Winnie clutching his left wrist looking incredibly nervous.

"Winnie!"

"Augustine!" Both exclaimed at the same time as they ran towards each other. One would think they were friends who hadn't seen each other in forever. Both stopped before they could even touch each other. Realizing that there was a huge thing between the two. In seconds the two began to blabber not. Hearing each other's explanations over their own all until they both said,

"I'm So Sorry!" Augustine noticed Winnie's face flush and he could feel his own face turn bright red.

"I'm sorry you go first." Winnie said as Augustine nodded. He wanted to go first anyways especially because he wouldn't be surprised if he got rejected. There really was only one way to test it. He took a deep breath.

"Okay then. Uhm when we kissed the other day, as much as I could excuse it as an accident I know it was not. What I'm trying to say is I like you. A lot. As in more than a friend, but as much as I like you, we can't be together."

"It's because you're a demon isn't it?" Augustine looked up in shock. It wasn't true but Winnie was freakishly on point.

"How?" But before he could say anything further Winnie interrupted.

"Well you always leave after me, and I never see you up in heaven flying down, and you never fly back up with me. Not to mention you could see the door hiding the trees of life and knowledge. They're now connected with the devil that I figured you were a demon." Augustine began to sweat as Winnie approached. He was about to be slapped, stabbed, punched, surely something horrible. Yet he wanted to see what Winnie would do. And to his surprise Winnie grabbed his hand.

"I still want to be with you. Like if you just want to be friends that's okay, but I also like you as more than a friend." Winnie said as he looked away, his face a bright red. Augustine felt his heart overwhelmed knowing Winnie was okay with it. He was half tempted to kiss the guy right now. Yet Augustine knew he couldn't even hide that from Winnie. If they were going to make anything work he needed to tell him the full truth. Augustine pulled back his hand.

"I'm relieved to know that, but it's not the full truth." Winnie raised a brow. "I'm not an angel you're right about that, but I'm not a demon either." In moments he saw Winnie's eyes widen. While in his peripheral he could see his hands grow black.

"I don't know what I am." He saw a flash of recognition in Winnie's eyes.

"You're the boy from the labs." He muttered more to himself as Augustine nodded.

"Yeah."

"I told you stories and read the bible to you every day." Winnie exclaimed.
