Making up and out

After the disaster of the "traitor of humanity" getting banished from the city of Faunatra, Rayne was absolutely devastated as they walked through the now seemingly endless streets of their home city now overthrown by chaos.

How did it come to this? How could they leave their beloved friend out to rot like that?

If anything, they could've been the reason for her to get crushed underfoot by some giant or worse...discovered and toyed with by one before meeting her end at the pit of one of their acidic bottomless pit of a stomach.

They hated the thought of that, hated the fact that being high during all of that was their only excuse for it.

They continued to wander around, guilt and regret at the back of their mind right before they suddenly passed by a familiar building. They stop by to look up at it before they realize that it's literally standing on one leg, like if the wind blew hard enough the whole thing would collapse down onto the ground.

It seemed to once have been a small shop, now almost burnt to a crisp but...one thing was still in sight, there was a sign up the broken down entrance of the building. It read "Cobweb Spells", that's when Rayne remembered what Lana told them the day after that horrible night, they banished Kiera away and labeled her as a traitor who was trying to bring monsters into the city so people burned down her store after she left just out of pure anger and spite towards her.

They couldn't stand seeing all this destruction, it pained them too much, they couldn't take it...what if that's all that's left of Kiera? What if they couldn't find her?

Just as they thought about that, their eyes wandered off to their phone as their mind came to realize, they could still find Kiera and make things right. Yet that also meant...seeing the freaking Boogey Man again.

They really didn't want to see him at all after that literal "child massacre" But they suppose they just had to, knowing that he might have some knowledge of her disappearance, even though he literally might've just eaten her.

Even with the anxiety-provoking paranoid thoughts in their head, they understood that they had to do this, so they reluctantly started heading closer to the gates of the city where they and the trio used to sneak out from.

Right as they were heading to their usual spot, they immediately stopped, what were they thinking? This is the whole reason Kiera got caught! There was no way in hell they could use the same spot. But if they can't, then how were they supposed to leave the city...?

They had to take a moment and think as they carefully took in their surroundings, there were no guards around yet, but there most likely would be a lot of security cameras there.

They slowly walked away, feeling lost and hopeless before their eye caught something, another little corner just like the one they used to sneak out of!

Albeit it was a bit smaller, but they didn't care, Kiera was worth much more than their comfort.

They slowly inched towards it as they carefully tried to spot any guards or security measures around, the government really is stupid if they didn't search for any more nooks and little cracks like this, but of course they wouldn't. All they care about is calming down the public, after all, not their safety.

They sighed before trying to squeeze through the hole as they finally made it out of the city, their eyes immediately mesmerized by the sight of all the lovely greenery around them.

But they couldn't waste any time, they didn't come all this way just to look around at some plants or whatever, they needed to finally take some responsibility for their own actions and mistakes...especially when they hurt so many people.
