(Hey y'all, just wanted to start off the reposted/rewritten chapter by apologising for yk being dead for a whole ahh season 💀 but alas, I finally had the motivation to ACTUALLY finish rewriting this chapter and hopefully ppl haven't stopped reading my book yet after being on hiatus for so long lol but enjoy :33)
WARNING: Had to do a warning this time since this chapter got taken down cuz of some harsh scenes. There's details of gore and death within this chapter, you have been warned ig lol
It was mid-afternoon, and the sun was still out and shining brightly yet...if I wanted to survive for the week, I had to go out and hunt since it was already getting quite late for it.
It wasn't as easy as it sounded either, I may be bigger and stronger than them but they're still quite hard to spot which doesn't really help.
They usually come out right before it gets dark as well since it would be harder to navigate through a forest where the trees went from itty bitty little twigs to gigantic towering greenery in pitch-black darkness.
They also have to watch out for passing by predators who are only able to spot them when it's bright out, guess the best estimated time for them to step out would be before the sun sets. And that's when I step out to strike.
What am I hunting, you ask?
Well humans, obviously. Those little pests that I wouldn't even bat an eye at if they weren't so "crucial" for my diet...ugh...good thing they're quite delicious. At least city humans are, organic ones like them have much better flavors than those bred ones that they sell like literally everywhere.
I'm lucky to be living so close to one of the nests of those little gremlins, it's easy to grab however many I'd like whenever I want.
With the thought of finally getting my fill for the week, I continued my way in the forest, walking till I reached the part where the trees started getting gradually smaller and smaller, almost toy-like.
Even though I had to be hunting, it didn't require me to be disrespectful towards nature, which meant I had to continue the rest of the path while watching my step, and believe me, with feet as wide as mine it's not easy to not just crush every little thing in my path to dust, good thing Im quite careful too when need be.
It had been a while since I had gone out hunting...specifically because of that one specifically annoying little human, I think we all know who I'm talking about at this point, come on.
They've distracted me and played around with me to the point I had to cut from my hunting hours, which is not healthy, yes I know! But that does not mean that I'm rusted yet...I can still catch a few little bugs.
I wouldn't like to brag but I'm normally quite good with my prey, I even reward them by playing with them a little at their final moments, and really, who wouldn't like that?
I chuckled at the thought of getting to just toy with my food again, not like I had a chance to before moving out to live on my own... I continued my path amongst the miniature trees right before my ears suddenly picked up some voices coming from ahead, I followed the voice until it led me to two little humans, all packed up and carefully walking amongst the trees.
As if they don't wish to be seen...well it's their unlucky day I guess.
And last.
They seemed to be a young couple, one man one woman hand in hand, they seemed to be in their late 20s, not much older than I am I suppose.
I stalked them for a while, my enormous steps shaking the ground beneath me as I slowly and carefully approached them. You know I've always wondered...how in the actual fuck do these imbeciles not hear or see me when I approach them? I'm literally almost taller than any buildings these brainless parasites have built over the years of their pointless hiding!
