After Rayne escaped Ash's clutches once more, Ash continued on with his hunt but this time didn't waste any time toying with his food. He snatched up any and every human he saw out in the open and took out the little sack that he carries for his "leftovers", then stuffed the poor humans he captured within his colossal fishnetted hands into it.
He went back home right after and feasted upon them with some other dish he cooked, he continued with his regular life even though he was genuinely upset with and furious at the human who kept tricking and escaping him.
After he finished his meal, he cleaned off the blood dripping from his gigantic lips down to his chin, and he swore to himself that if he ever saw that tiny annoying little morsel once more, he'd end them right then and there with no hesitation whatsoever.
Ash liked to toy with his food, emotionally and physically since their suffering gave him quite the ego boost and made him feel like he was on top of the world, but this little creature...oh no they wouldn't be getting any of that, they're not even gonna get a small little gasp of air before he stuffed them right into his mouth.
And with that, time passed by as Ash continued hunting and Rayne continued going out to the forest. They managed to avoid Ash and other giants alike for a little while before getting captured by Ash once more, of course once again, they managed to trick him into letting them go every time before he even gets to put them into his mouth.
Though this frustrates him even more, they also talk a whole lot more with each and every encounter. Rayne shares their drawings, Ash actually gets to show them his poems which Rayne finds to be quite depressing even to a concerning degree but decides to not comment about it.
They continue on their little game of Ash chasing Rayne around and Rayne escaping him before both of them repeat the same mistakes over and over again for months straight, none of them learning from their mistakes one bit as they grow closer and closer with time. Up until...one faithful day, Rayne goes out to the forest for their little drawing session once more.
They pull out their sketchbook like always and start sketching away the trees and the little animals around them. Studying their surroundings and the critters of the forest like usual before...of course...the ground is shaking again, guess
who it is.
"Well hello there, little rainstorm.~"
A booming voice speaks to them from above, but they don't even raise up their head from their sketchbook as they respond.
"Ugh...its you again..."
Rayne says as they sigh softly, already used to his teasing and flirting- wait...what did he just call them?
"Hey- what do you mean "rainstorm"...?"
They ask as they actually raise up their head this time to look at him.
"Oh...you know...Rayne? Rainstorm? I think it's cute.~"
Ash responds back as he fails to surpass a little giggle before he sits down right next to them with a loud thud and a rumble so strong that it almost makes them lose their balance.
"Uh uh...so...what are you planning today? The usual?"
Rayne asks as they go back to drawing, not caring one bit about what the gargantuan man-eating being sitting right next to them might do to them today.
"Hm...well, I've basically tried everything so far- jeez...I've been trying for so long! Why can't I just eat you?? I mean you're food, no offense...I'm a giant- this is not how it should go at all!"
Ash says as he looks down at the tiny speck of a person sitting next to him, drawing away.
"Well ouch- thanks for calling me food but...maybe it's your self-conscious finally speaking up and saying, "No! Don't eat them, they're a person! That's not right!" Hm?"
