The drive was long. We started to leave the city into the country side. I got bored so I started reading.
The Haunting of  Hill House - Shirley Jackson.
After a while I listened to the audio book, I forgot to put my contacts in so my eyes couldn't really focus.

——————

I stared outside as I listened to the end of the book.
We've bin driving for 1-2 hours now.
I never asked them where exactly the house was, but based on the distance from aunt Edith's house, I knew that I couldn't visit them that often anymore. The area was remote. Many old abandoned houses.
But what stuck out to me the most was the old amusement park.

——————

The energy I saw on Aurora at the dining table, was all over the amusement park. Just surrounding it.

Steve: „ It seems like you spotted the amusement park. I wish it was open. The three of us would have a great time there, family bonding and stuff you know"

Agatha: „How long has it been abandoned?"

Steve:„ It closed after the Second World War, just to dangerous for the kids. When ever we would visit family in Pennsylvania we drove past it. Your grandpa even showed me pictures of him on the rides when he was a kid."

Then and there I knew that somehow this would become my safe space. Where I could write my short stories in peace.

Just as I was about to take my eyes off of it. I saw someone standing in the middle of the park.

My heart started beating fast
I couldn't breath
A cold sweat dripped of my face
I soon started feeling dizzy
Next thing i knew
I started seeing pure darkness
