"Clean the floor, scrub the table, polish the shoes and this other list of chores you have to do" was all this girl had to hear for the rest of her life. She had cleaned the floor many times that day but was denied doing thus so far. Poor Evangeline had nothing but bad luck since the day she was left all alone when her parents perished. Her step mother misused her all the time because she considered the girl more as a servant than as a daughter. But Evelyn her older sister always considered her part of the family. She would carry her shopping sneakily when her parents were not home and buy her wonderful items and accessories. She was the only one who cared. When no one was looking she would have pillow fights with her and enjoy life how it should be. She knew her parents were wrong the way they treated her step sister. On a normal day while shopping Evelyn carried her sister to the park to eat something. While eating they were having such a funny conversation.

Evelyn: Yeah and I told him don't ever mess with me and my friends ever again. Poor fellow he fell after what we told him but it's how he fell that made us laugh and he laughed as well.

Evangeline: Wow that was extremely funny. I wished I were there.

Evelyn: No worries I'll bring you out of that jail you live in called our home. It's only a matter of time to get mom and dad soft hearted again.

Evangeline: Why do they hate me so much?

Evelyn: They did not at first until they lost their second child due to an accident while trying to save you from falling. You were so young and innocent and I don't blame you for what happened at all. Mom fell that day because of you and held you for the death of her child as well as dad. Since you were never their own they blamed you.

Evangeline: (tears in her eyes) so it's my fault that our baby brother died. I never meant it truly.

Evelyn: They cannot blame you for a mistake they caused and I will get them to forgive you don't matter what.

Evangeline cried until she stopped. She knew something that she never knew she did. But she couldn't stop blaming herself for what pain she caused her parents. Deep down she knew they cared for her in a tiny space in their heart. Evelyn always stood by her side until that faithful day. While having some fun with her sister, a set of bandits raided the pastry shop they hung out the most. He sister hid her from danger and was tragically shot by one of the bullets meant for Evangeline instead. But Evelyn took the blow for her instead. Poor girl stood by her older sister and even called the ambulance and the bandits saw when she made the call. They hit her with the gun on her head and knocked her out cold. When she woke back up her sister was saying her last words "don't let them hate you for this. It was not your fault this time, it was mine" and with this she died with a tear in her eyes. Evangeline was too late to save her dying sister who bleed out and she witnessed every moment of that terrible day right in front her eyes.

She knew that her life was coming to an end as she knew from the beginning. Everyone who ever cared about her left her out in the cold dark shadows of the wicked ones in this cruel world. Evangeline was always mistreated even in bad times at these. She realized that the world itself was never in her favour of having a happy family. Poor girl never knew what was right from wrong that day. She was completely shattered.

She only got one glimpse of the killer and knew that it was up to herself to find the killer who murdered her only happiness. Even though she was hurting inside her pain never stopped. That day Evelyn's mother blamed and thrashed Evangeline for the death of their only child. They held her responsible for what happened.

Evelyn's Mother: (shouts and screams) it's your entire fault. Why did you have to be so hard headed and not do your chores as told to do so. You completely lazy and cannot do anything right. I hate you.

Evangeline: She only took me out for some fun.

Evelyn's Mother: (slaps Evangeline in the face then shouts) you feel you can talk to me this way, who the hell do you think you are huh. You worthless little brat. That's why you never had parents because you were unlucky since the day you were born. You even bought that bad luck to our house.

Evangeline's heart was broken in the worst it could possibly be at anytime. It was worst when the both of them kicked her out in the cold outdoors. They pulled her hair hard and whipped her with a heavy piece of branch from the nearby tree.
