I stood still with my hands wrapped around a bouquet of white roses as the tone of the wedding song reverberated through the whole church, where I once married the Lord and made vows to serve his home. But right now, I was waiting for the wooden double doors to open while my white lace veil and wedding dress were getting blown by the wind, so I can marry the man whom I broke my vows for.

As the door slowly opened and I took careful steps toward the altar with everyone's blissful eyes on me, I felt two things—my faith shattering, and hope flourishing in my chest.

I stared at the statue of God in front of me and prayed for forgiveness even though I didn't know if he was listening because he didn't when I begged for salvation the night my purity was taken away from me within these walls, in his very home.

I've waited for this moment for 10 years, planning on how I will take the monster down to the deepest I could; deeper than grave, and this was the first step—marrying Roman Steel, the man I sinned for.

Taking the last step, I faced my groom and gazed deeply into the smile on his lips through my veil. I memorized each line that his smile created on his face because I wanted to remind myself of it once I've already succeeded because by then, he will never have the chance to wear it ever again.

I returned the smile, the same smile he will see before I take him to my Lord for his turn for judgment and revenge.

"Mary Holloway and Roman Steel, today you stand before each other to make promises that will last a lifetime. These vows are not just words, but the foundation of your commitment to one another," said by the Priest.

I nodded and smiled even wider as I gripped my groom's hands clasped with mine.

"When my parents were still alive, they never taught me how to pray and never took me to a church even just for once," Roman started his vow. "I never knew what prayers and churches are for, and why people are expected to have a belief that those are important, until my first visit to this church. Until I met you. You were here in the altar, kneeling with your eyes closed and mumbling prayers while holding a rosary against those luscious and sinful lips of yours, making me pray for the first time because I wished I were that rosary."

The crowd laughed at his statement, while he boyishly grinned before continuing.

"Whenever you kneel, I always wish it was me you are worshiping. Whenever you raise your hands to praise the Lord, I always wish it was me you are surrendering yourself into. Mary, honey, I do not regret a single thing I did, not even the years I've spent away from you because it is worth it. Those ten years are nothing compared to the lifetime we will spend together. I love you and I take you as my partner for life."

He caressed the back of my hand using his thumb after he delivered his vow, and even though I wasn't looking at the crowd, I knew they were touched because affection through the air that was making my skin itchy.

It was my turn to deliver my vow, so I smiled sweetly to my soon-to-be-husband before opening my mouth.

"Some may think that I'm crazy, but they don't understand how I feel like in a seventh heaven to stand with you right now, holding your hands instead of the rosary and uttering this vow instead of the prayers I've memorized to keep forever in my heart," I paused to lick my lips. "When I met you, I discovered things I didn't know existed within me. I thought I only have faith for the Lord in my heart and that I was born to have nothing but it. But you, my love, made me realize that there's a lot more I should live for, and maybe I am really crazy because I liked every single thing you did to me."

I bit my lower lip and gazed at him seductively while I stifled a chuckle because of what I said.

"Roman, I pledge myself to you through every shadow, and to burn with you through every sin. I promise to be there in the dark, following you wherever you go until death do us part."
