GIFT 🎁 (Asher and Taeui special chapter)

It was a normal Spring morning Jeong Taeui, was reading a book sometimes, Kyle would offer Jeong Taeui books to read when Jeong Taeui was bored this time too he offered Jeong Taeui to read 'Cressida Jane 1986' a rare book which had very few copies. Asher was now 5 years old he though was 5 years old he looked like hewas  8 or 9 years old boy he was taller and more matured than kids of his age although it wasn't something bad turns out Ilay grew up like this aswell where he looks older than his actual age as Kyle had mentioned it a few days ago to Jeong Taeui, when Jeong Taeui told about his concern for Asher being different than kids of his age. Asher was fluent in German, Korean and English he was a quick learner and adapted to situations easily a trait of Jeong Taeui himself was embedded in Asher although things didn't change much Asher was still always calm, nonchalant and cold towards everyone almost even to his own uncle and Godfather Kyle, Asher was indifferent though the boy had soft spot for  Jeong Taeui that he was always shy around Jeong Taeui. He was doing fine but from next week Asher will start to go to kindergarten Jeong Taeui is worried what if Asher is bullied or hurt as he reads the book thousands of worry are running through his mind. Then, he remembers he didn't see Asher since morning the little grandmaster Asher Riegrow since morning was locked in his room even when Rita nagged Asher to come out he replied nonchalantly that he is busy. The boy was troublesome at these times as Jeong Taeui sighed and was about to go to Asher's room the door of his own room creaked open there he saw Asher was standing with a shy yet calm face those charcoal like black eyes sparkling with hope and nervousness suddenly the silence was broken by the shy voice of Asher.

"Dad."

What an accurate pronunciation the child was very sharp. After a moment Jeong Taeui who broke out of his train of thought replied gently.

"Yes, Asher what is it?"

Asher averted his eyes somewhere else and handed over a box covered neatly with silver glitter paper and wrapped in dark blue ribbon. Asher spoke in a shy yet calm tone.

"I... made you a gift."

Hearing this Jeong Taeui, had a puzzled look he thought 'It isn't even my birthday or even father's day or any occasion then why is he giving me a gift' but Jeong Taeui as always smiled gently he didn't want to upset his child so he shooked his head and spoke in a ever so gentle tone.

"Really? How sweet Asher."

As, Jeong Taeui opened the gift his face hardened when he saw what was inside the box his expression turned pale he felt sick on seeing what was inside there lay a dead sparrow with its head crushed and blood oozing out inside in paper was written with the same blood 'For Dad'. Jeong Taeui felt like he would faint a gift so much horrifying his arms and while body felt cold because of goosebumps. On top of the sparrow layed a flower crown covered in blood it was a flower crown of yellow carnations and pink orchards. On seeing that he stared at his son. Asher, was looking nervous his eyes full of hope even if Jeong Taeui wanted Asher to be like him it seems like the child not only resembles Ilay more than Jeong Taeui but also adapted that unhinged mindset. Jeong Taeui at these times could not help but feel very bitter. He on seeing the spark of nervousness and hope on his son's face could not help but lie to the child how can he break such a cute expression of a child even if the child gave something horrifying at times like this he wondered children are not only innocent and naive but also cruel. He stared at Asher and spoke in a forced happy tone.

"It's a good gift Asher."

As Jeong Taeui said that with a sweet forced happy expression Asher's expression changed the boy smiled softly and happily told Jeong Taeui something so horrifying in that calm and innocent tone that Jeong Taeui wanted to faint out of shock.

"Oh, Dad did you like the gift it's wonderful the next time I will give you a bigger animal body as a gift I myself will give it more tragic death then the one I gave to the sparrow."

Jeong Taeui,now seriously was shocked handling his psychopath husband was a thing and handling a unhinged kid now that too one with his own blood made him feel bitter.  Ilay on hearing this will surely find it amusing his eyes would sparkle in amusement and mischief he would probably laugh at Jeong Taeui's worried complains and say 'Its fine, he is a kid afterall kids are like that at a certain age why are you so worked up it not a big deal?' on thinking about Ilay's face. Jeong Taeui sighed he really won't be lying if he said he didn't missed Ilay the man had been gone again for a dangerous mission this time without any words he doesn't knows when the madman will come back but until then he would have to deal with this mess.

Jeong Taeui sighed in resignation and spoke to asher gently.

"Asher dear no matter how the gift was wonderful you should not kill innocent animals it's wrong"

Asher who tilted his head and spoke softly.

"But... I prepared this gift for you myself didn't you like it if you did why are you telling me not to give you anymore these kinds of gifts."

Jeong Taeui shaked his head and spoke firmly.

"No I liked the gift but I didn't like the fact that you had to kill something to give me next time why don't you give me something wonderful like this flower crown."

Jeong Taeui picked up the carnations and orchard flower crown which was covered in blood of the sparrow.

Asher nodded his head quietly and spoke softly.

"Okay dad."

Later, after all that mess Jeong Taeui buried the poor sparrow on the backyard and sighed he placed the flower crown on top of the grave of the sparrow.Aw, He was about to leave he saw Asher standing behind the peach tree that Peter had planted a few years ago and now the tree had grown quite alot tall. Asher was staring quietly at Jeong Taeui he had a distant and cold shy expression Jeong Taeui noticed maybe that he felt bad on thinking that he indicated with his fingers to Asher to come closer and then Asher who slowly walked closer to Jeong Taeui came right in front of Jeong Taeui and then Jeong Taeui spoke softly.

"How are feeling.?"

Asher responded in a calm yet slightly cold tone.

"I Don't know dad".

On hearing the reply Jeong Taeui clicked his tongue and then he patted Asher's head at times like this he can't help but feel bitter but then again his affection as a father always took over.

Asher who silently hugged Jeong Taeui's lower abdomen stared up at Jeong Taeui and that time Jeong Taeui's heart beat again a surge of affection coursing through him as he hugged his son back. He knows Asher Riegrow his beloved son took after Ilay more but at times he knew that this very boy in his arms has traits of Jeong Taeui too and maybe just maybe he can hope that Asher is more human even if he is slightly twisted but he can't help but care for his son.

As he thought of it Jeong Taeui, chuckled he has come this far in life he never thought he would meet someone like Ilay and then end up with Ilay and later on fall in love with that same Ilay whom he once thought was a bastard and monster and lastly he would be the one who would  sprout a  child like Asher. Life is truly full of suprises as Jeong Taeui held Asher he could not help but feel content of the current life he is living yes this is peace for him and his choices he doesn't regret at all.
