The ending of season four was far from what I expected and honestly I am stuck on where to go from here storyline wise. I had so many ideas I was excited to write but not a single one of them involved JJ dying. I wanted to make him fight hard and long for Saylor, to earn back her trust and respect but with the ending there isn't the time for them to hash it out like I was hoping.

It is gonna take me longer than anticipated to finish this story as I am going to have to really think about how I am incorporating not only Saylor as a character but Saylor and JJs relationship into the season four story line.

I have no idea what I'm going to do and there's no one better to ask what you want to read than the readers, I'm going to list a few potential options below and I will appreciate it if you guys comment which you'd prefer.

1) Saylor and JJ resolve their issues and get back together but JJ dies (this could potentially feel rushed but I would do my best to make it work and will probably just extend the timeline maybe by adding a few days in here and there)

2) JJ is working and fighting to get Saylor back and she's making sure he has earnt her forgiveness as she struggles to forget everything that happened. They sort it out towards the end of book but JJ dies.

3) JJ doesn't die and I write an alternate ending.

4) Both Saylor and JJ die

5) other, please leave any suggestions because I'm truly struggling

In terms of season five, I honestly don't know if there will be a season five for Saylor Routledge which genuinely upsets me to say. I feel like there is no point continuing this story without JJ and if I am to write an alternate ending that will be the end of this book series.

All of that being said I am working on a prequel to season 1 called 'changes' which is the story of Rafe and Saylor whilst they were on the mainland. So Saylor will be back, just not for any official OBX written storylines.

Sideline is also being worked on and I would appreciate for anyone who has read this if you haven't already to give that story a chance too.
