Chapter Thirteen

"Have a seat." He instructed. I sat in the chair across from him and gently folded my hands on top of the table. Waiting for him to speak. He put a large envelope on the table and passed it to me.

"I was able to find your friend quickly as you can tell but im cutting my services short. Everything i was able to collect is in that folder. He told me to tell you not to open it untill you get home."

"Wait you confronted him!?"

"No, he confronted me. He spotted me outside if his house apparently he was watching me just as long as i was watching him he thought i was the cops. Almost killed me. So do me a favor next time you wanna find someone. Please Don't contact me." And with that he got up and walked out of the shop. Maybe he followed the wrong person. Tried to kill him? That doesn't sound like alex, but he said he told him to tell me not to open the envelope till i got home. That means he knows me right. So it has to be Alex. I guess i can't say i know alex like i use to. People change i sure as hell know i have.

As soon as i got home i opened the envelope and all that feel out was a small sheet of paper and my favorite flower. A white carnation, now i know for sure that this if from alex. I picked up the letter and began to read it.

Dear Renée,
I was surpised to find out you were looking for me. I haven't heard from you in years, but it's nice to know I've been on your mind. Because you've definitely been on mine. Sorry i had to rough your private investigator up but, i mean come on someone following me all day everyday really isn't something i take kindly to. But anyways since you been looking for me im givin you the opportunity to find me your self. Meet me at our favorite breakfast diner monday @8p.m . Thats if you still remember what place that is. Go to the one downtown.

I smiled. He's talking about the waffle house we use to go there atleast twice a month once we were able to drive places. Just the two of us. We would sit there and eat for hours while talking about nonsense. I sighed while reminiscing about the old times. Wait, he said Monday? Today's saturday thats two days from now, not even. I can't believe it, its been so long since I've seen him and now im going to see him in less then two days. I wonder how much he's changed. Does he have a family, is he married, does he have kids? But the biggest question i have is why did he leave me. I feel like i already know the answer but i want to hear it come from his mouth. I smiled. Finnally i can go to sleep happy and excited about the days to come.

Sunday morning

"Neneeeeeeeeee!!!!! Wake up wake df up!" Nae yelled at me while jumping up and down on my bed. I swear to god she acts like we're still in high school like im bout to punch ha ass dead in her fucking face waking me up like i got some were to be. I sat up "What! What do your fucking want with my life! Please telll me so you can get out my face." She scrunched up her face. "Well somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed." She said while getting off my bed. I rolled my eyes "what do you want nae?" She smacked her lips. Ratched ass. " Janice invited us to go shopping today with her and Ivory. I told her we would go she gone be on her way in an hour so get up and get dressed." Then she walked out my room. UGGHHHHHHH I swear theres never a day i can just lay in bed.

After i showered and put on my bra and panties i went into my closest to find something to wear. I decided on a white button down blouse and a black skater skirt with my silver Michel kors flats. Once i put on my clothes i sat at my vanity to do my hair and make up. I made my make up light and natural. You know light mascara and eye liner nude lipstick with light gloss on top etc. And i decided to part my hair down the middle and feather curl it. I felt cute. After i put on my everyday jewelry i grabbed some extra cash out my stash, left my room and went towards the kitchen. Nae was still in her room so i toasted me a cinnamon rasin bagel and spread cream cheese on it. I poured me some orange juice and sat in the living room, turned on the t.v and waited. After about 45 minutes Janice pulled up in the drive way and honked her horn. "Nae!!! Janice and ivy are here lets go!" I yelled while grabbing my purse and keys. "Ok im comin!" She yelled back "lock the door on your way out im in the car!" I said before I walked out the house towards Janice's car and into the backseat. "Hey Janice, hey ivy how are you guys?" "Good." They replied in unison. "Renée why didn't you sit in the front?" Janice questioned. I giggled "Sorry i just assumed ivy would be in the front, but its ok nae can sit there instead." She laughed and shook her head in acceptance. Soon after out comes nae. She had on some acid washed boyfriend jeans a loose beige button up sweater and beige 3 inch heels and her hair was up in a slick bun. No lie my sister was lookin fine as hell. Her outfit was simple but sexy. She locked the front door and walked towards the car. Janice gestured her to the front seat threw the window. She got in the car and greeted everyone cheerfully. And of course Janice and ivy greated her back. Once Janice checked to make sure everyone was buckled up. We were off.

Janice took us to some fancy shopping plaza on her side of town. I swear every item in every store cost of 100 bucks. Yea you'll find some things worth 20, 40, 50, or even 80 dollars but it would be little things like chains and braclets or purses. To be honest i didn't know my dad had this much money for janice to shop in stores like these. Currently we are in Burberry. Everything in here is so fancy. I decided since we've been in three stores already and i didn't buy nothing in neither one i decided to buy a clutch that cost $120. It was cute it was black and white with cute sequence designs. "Ooooo you gonna let me barrow that sis?" Nae asked me "hell no im not" i said while laughing

Once we were done shopping janice took us all for lunch at the cheese cake factory. I love it there. "Sooooo ladies anything exciting in life?" Janice asked while looking around the table. Nobody answered. Just smiled. "Nae what about you?"

"Ummm nothing same old same old....work and home....you know." nae responded. "Thats nice....your dad told me you have a boyfriend.....is it serious?" Nae smiled. "Yes, we're serious" then she frowned. "But i haven't seen him lately.....he says its cuz he's busy...i don't know i believe him i guess." She put up a fake smile. Janice smiled back "Well i gotta try out for dance again." Ivy spoke up. "Thats good." I chimed in. Thanks to ivy the ice was broken and tge conversation was no longer akward. After we talked about her dance we continued on to talk about movies, songs, and people we don't like. After lunch janice droped nae and i off home. "Lets do this again ladies, me and ivy had fun we hope you two did too." "Of course we did!" Nae said speaking for the both of us. We waved goodbye to them and janice pulled off as soon as we were in the house. Nae went straight to her room. "See ya tomorrow! " she yelled then closed her door. I just shook my head and went to my room. Im lowkey excited tomorrow i get to see alex after years of not speaking to him, seeing him or even knowing were he was. I layed down and let thoughts of alex and our past consume me. Soon i was fast asleep.

"Yo nene wake df up." Nae said shaking me. "NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN WHAT NAE!!" She looked at me mouth to the floor "BITCH YOUR FUCKING ALARM CLOCK KEEP GOING OFF AND YOUR DUMB ASS FAST A-FUCKING SLEEP. IM TRYNNA HELP YOUR DUMB ASS MAN FUCK YOU!!" Right before she walked out my room she picked up my shoe by the door and threw it at me then slammed my door shut. She missed me but i know she was aiming for my head. Rubbing my temples i hopped out my head. I owe my sister an apology but u told her bout wakeing me up. It was the sleep talking. I looked at my phone to check the time and date. Omg its monday. I cant believe i forgot that quick and its 9:30a.m. Fuck i gotta get ready for my therapy session. I honestly dont want to go.

After i took a shower and got dressed i went to Nae's room to apologize to her. She was laying her bed underneath the sheets on her phone. I could see the glow from her screen. "Nae im sorry for yelling at you ok, i didn't mean to i was just really sleepy and i told you bout waking me up." She came up from under the covers "man nene im not mad at you but you really needa check yourself like forreal next time you yell at me like that imma cut yo ass." She said with her im so fucking serious face. I laughed "ok i will, but do you accept my apology?" Before answering me she stared at me as if she was trying to see if i was being genuine. After like 20 seconds she smiled and said yes. "Good now gimme a hug i gotta go to therapy." After i said goodbye to nae for the day i headed straight to Dr.Quimbys office. Another day another dollar i guess.
