The days following Yn’s revelation of her relationship with Taehyung felt like a blur. She had finally opened her heart, letting Taehyung in despite the walls she had carefully built around herself. But as much as she felt like she was moving forward with him, the past was always just a step behind, waiting to catch up with her.

It didn’t take long before Yn’s family, who had been following her every move since her departure, learned of her newfound life with Taehyung. Her aunt, who had always been a manipulative and cold woman, had heard the rumors. But it was more than just whispers in the wind—Yn’s family had made it clear they were looking for her. And now, they were desperate to get her back.

Yn’s phone buzzed one evening as she sat with Taehyung, her thoughts on the future. It was her mother calling. She hesitated, unsure if she was ready for the confrontation. After a few moments, she answered, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside her.

“Yn,” her mother’s voice came through the line, sounding frantic. “We need to talk.”

“About what?” Yn asked, her tone guarded. She could already hear the guilt and urgency in her mother’s voice, and she wasn’t sure if she was ready to hear the apology she had never gotten.

“We know what happened,” her mother continued, almost nervously. “We know you’re living with him... with Taehyung.”

Yn didn’t speak, the weight of her silence making her mother pause.

“Yn, please,” her mother begged. “We’re sorry. We’ve made mistakes. We were wrong about everything. Your sister… Yena… she—”

Yn didn’t let her finish. “Stop,” she cut in, her voice cold. “I don’t need your apologies. I don’t need anything from you.”

There was a long pause, and for a moment, Yn thought the call had ended. But then her mother spoke again, quieter now.

“We’ve made arrangements,” she said, her voice trembling. “We’re throwing a party. We want you to come. To see us again, to talk.”

Yn felt a pang of guilt, but she quickly pushed it away. She had long ago made her decision. She wasn’t going to be anyone’s pawn anymore, not for her family, not for Yena, not for anyone.

“No, thank you,” Yn replied, her voice firm. “I’m fine where I am. I’ve built my own life now.”

But her mother wasn’t done. “Yn, please. Come back home. For Yena. For us. We need you.”

With that, Yn hung up, her heart heavy with the weight of everything she had been through. She had tried so hard to distance herself from them, to break free from the chains of expectation. But the pull of her family was never easy to shake.

As she set the phone down, Taehyung’s gaze was on her, his face unreadable. He had been quiet throughout the entire conversation, but now he spoke.

“They want you back, don’t they?” he asked softly.

Yn looked at him, her heart aching. “They don’t deserve me,” she whispered. “They never did.”

Taehyung nodded, stepping closer to her. “You don’t have to go back to them, Yn. You have me now.”

“I know,” she said, her voice thick with emotion. “But it doesn’t change the fact that they’re still my family. They want me to come back. And I... I’m not sure I can just cut ties with them.”

“You don’t have to,” Taehyung said, his voice steady but firm. “But you can choose what’s best for you. And right now, what’s best for you is staying here. With me.”

Yn met his gaze, feeling a surge of warmth in her chest. For the first time, she wasn’t afraid to acknowledge that she had found something better than what she had left behind. She had found someone who saw her, who valued her, who loved her—Taehyung.

The next day, Yn’s family went ahead with their party, hoping that Yn would show up to make amends. But instead of her, it was Taehyung who arrived, his presence commanding attention as he walked into the grand hall. His eyes swept the room, finding the faces of Yn’s family and locking onto them with a chilling calmness.

“Taehyung,” her father greeted, his voice uneasy. “We didn’t expect you.”

Taehyung’s gaze never wavered, his expression as cold as ever. “I wasn’t here for the party,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “I’m here for Yn.”

Her father took a step forward, as though trying to assert some authority. “She’s our daughter, Taehyung. You have no right to—”

“I have every right,” Taehyung interrupted, his voice sharp. “Because Yn is mine now. And I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.”

Yn’s family fell silent, the weight of his words hanging in the air. No one dared speak, realizing that whatever power they had once held over Yn was now gone. Taehyung would not let them take her back.

As the tension grew, Taehyung stepped back, giving them one final look of disdain. “You’re not welcome here anymore. Yn is not your possession to control.”

With that, he turned and walked away, his hand firmly gripping Yn’s as he led her out. She looked back one last time at her family, who stood frozen, their guilt and regret evident on their faces. But Yn didn’t look back any longer.

She had found her place, her home, with Taehyung, and nothing would take that away from her.

Yn and Taehyung returned home to a quiet, peaceful night, the weight of the world lifted off her shoulders. She had no more obligations to a family who had never truly cared for her. All that mattered now was the love she shared with the man who had claimed her heart. And for the first time, Yn felt free.
