Yn woke up the next morning to the soft rays of sunlight creeping through the curtains. She hadn’t slept well. The tension from the night before still lingered, clouding her mind. Taehyung’s words echoed in her head, each one like a sharp whisper against her skin. You belong to me.

She sat up in the bed, staring out the window. Her life had changed so drastically in the past few days. What was once a normal world was now turned upside down. She had been sold, not even given a choice in the matter, and now she found herself in this grand mansion, being treated like a prize to be won—if not for Taehyung’s cold, calculating gaze, then for the opulence of everything around her.

It made her feel small, even though she was anything but weak.

The door opened, and one of the maids entered. “Good morning, Lady Yn,” the maid greeted her softly. “Your breakfast is ready, and Master Taehyung is waiting for you in the study.”

Yn didn't respond immediately. She was still thinking about her situation, her eyes drifting back to the peaceful view outside. The life she had known, the family that had forsaken her, was all in the past now. She was stuck in this new world with Taehyung—a man who had claimed her as his own, even if she hadn’t given him her consent.

“I’ll be down shortly,” Yn said, finally breaking her silence.

The maid nodded and left, closing the door behind her. Yn took a deep breath before swinging her legs over the side of the bed and standing up. She hadn’t fully come to terms with her new reality, but one thing was clear: she wasn’t going to let Taehyung control her. Not like this.

She made her way down to the study. The mansion was vast and quiet, the only sound being the soft tap of her shoes against the polished floors. When she reached the study, she hesitated at the door. Taehyung was already sitting behind a large wooden desk, flipping through a stack of papers. His posture was rigid, as always, and there was an air of authority around him that made him seem untouchable.

Without looking up, he spoke. “Sit.” His voice was firm, as though he were giving an order, not a suggestion.

Yn didn’t want to obey, but she found herself doing so anyway, taking a seat across from him. There was no use in challenging him when it was clear he wouldn’t back down.

Taehyung finally looked up at her, his sharp gaze taking her in. “I trust you had a good night,” he said coldly, though his words seemed laced with an unspoken challenge.

Yn didn’t meet his gaze. Instead, she folded her hands in her lap, trying to control the swirling emotions inside her. “I’m fine,” she said, keeping her voice steady.

He leaned back in his chair, eyeing her with mild interest. “I’m sure you are,” he replied, his tone mocking. “But we both know this situation is far from fine.”

Yn clenched her jaw, but she didn’t respond. She wasn’t about to let him provoke her into showing weakness.

After a long pause, Taehyung stood up, walking toward the window and looking out at the sprawling grounds outside. “You’re not the first person who’s been sold to me,” he said quietly, almost to himself. “But you will be the last.”

Yn’s heart skipped a beat at his words. The last?

Turning toward her, Taehyung’s eyes locked onto hers with an intensity that made her pulse race. “I don’t like complications. I don’t like weakness. And I don’t like being lied to.”

Yn swallowed hard, unsure of where this conversation was going. “What are you trying to say?” she asked, her voice tight.

“I’m saying that you’re here now,” Taehyung replied, his voice soft yet filled with an unyielding conviction. “And I’m not going to let anyone—especially you—ruin that. You will follow my rules, Yn. You will accept that you belong to me.”

His words stung, even though she knew they were meant to intimidate her. The idea of being controlled, of being someone else’s possession, made her blood boil.

But she refused to let him see that.

“I’ll never belong to you,” she said through clenched teeth, her voice defiant. “And I’ll never obey you.”

Taehyung’s lips curled into a slight, dangerous smile. “We’ll see about that.”

For the rest of the morning, they sat in silence, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air. Yn couldn’t shake the feeling that every moment she spent here was another moment where she was losing control of her own fate.

And Taehyung seemed content to let her feel that way.
