Arhaan's eyes widened in shock, his face pale as he processed Dadi's words. He had anticipated anger, disappointment, or even silence, but not this. Never this.

"What's wrong, Arhaan?" Dadi's voice was laced with a motive. "Don't you want my forgiveness? Don't you want me by your side?"

Arhaan's head shook violently, tears welling up in his eyes. His fingers nervously scratched his right ear, a habit he'd developed in times of distress.

"I... I want Dadi," he stammered, his voice barely audible. "But... But the cost for this forgiveness is something, I can't pay. I can't"

Dadi's expression determine. "It's a deal, Arhaan. Divorce Amaira, and I'll grant you my forgiveness."

Arhaan's body trembled, his voice a desperate whisper, his both palm shaking in disagreement, "No... Please."

Dadi's eyes narrowed, her voice firm. "Okay, if not divorce, then just let her go."

Arhaan's face contorted in anguish, frustrated. "Why are you doing this to me, Dadi? Why?"

Dadi's expression remained resolute. "I'm sorry, Arhaan, but this is what I want. And I'll make it happen."

Before Arhaan could comprehend her intentions, Dadi summoned Irfaan, Arhaan's best friend.

"Irfaan!" Dadi called out.

Arhaan's gaze darted around, his eyes locking onto Irfaan's silently approaching figure. A glimmer of hope flickered within him. He immediately, rushed to Irfaan, grasping his arm and pulling him before Dadi.

"Irfaan, listen! What dadi's saying. I should let Amaira go. Can... can you imagine what's she is asking me to do? She wants me to divorce her." Arhaan's voice trembled, desperation etched on his face. "Make her understand, I... I can't live without Amaira. Please. She's not getting my point."

Irfaan remained silent, his eyes locked onto Arhaan's pleading face. Dadi's gaze also rested on Arhaan, her expression unyielding.

Arhaan's grip on Irfaan's arm tightened, his voice cracking with desperation. "Irfaan, please... You're my best friend. You know how much Amaira means to me. Make Dadi understand."
