Chapter 14: A Moment To Remember -------------------------------------------------
Your POV:
(Time skip: Wedding day)
I rushed downstairs, already knowing that Dark and I were late. Once I reached the front door, I quickly put my high heels on, wondering where Dark is right now.
"Dark? You ready? We have to go!" I called out, hoping he'd hear me.
"I'm right here." I jumped at his voice suddenly being right at my hear from behind me.
"God, Dark.. you've got to stop sneaking up on me." I sighed, turning to look at him. He wore a suit as always but this one was more than just black and white - it was luxurious. With his hair slicked back perfectly he almost looked royal while also exuding an effortless elegance.

"Wow..." I muttered, taking in the sight. Thought I'd never tell him but he looked exceptionally handsome today. Even Ashley, who used to mock me for not dating a 'hot guy' would be speechless.
Darks grin spread slightly at my quiet comment as his piercing black eyes roamed over me. My hair and make up were perfectly done, complemented by the jewelry and dress we bought together.
"I could say the same~" He remarked with a playful tone, stepping closer. The scent of his sweet perfume lingered as his hand wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. I closed my eyes and held tight onto his torso, preparing for the dizziness that I will get after the teleportation again. Just a moment later, I felt the fresh evening air hugging our bodies.
I opened my eyes, steadying myself with Darks help again. As I pulled away, I felt his gaze lingering.
"Alright, let's go.." I said hesitating between excitement for the wedding and the nerves at the thought of seeing my old school bully again.
Just as I turned and was ready to go over to the building, I felt a strong hand gripping my wrist, stopping me from walking.
"Wait. I have a question before we get inside."
I was a little confused on what he suddenly wanted to ask me but I brushed it off and turned fully around, waiting patiently for his question.
"You know that I'm not.. human." He began, his tone soft. "I've studied human behavior and emotions, yet there is one thing I still can't understand: why does marriage exist?" Dark asked softly. I could tell by the innocent expression on his face that he was honestly curious about this kind of stuff. It doesn't surprise me that he doesn't understand why humans do this since Dark has problems with showing or feeling emotions like love after all.
I thought for a second, unsure on how to explain this. "Well... sometimes two people love each other so deeply that they can't imagine life without each other. For some, knowledge is enough but others want to make it official- signing papers, exchanging rings, promising their loves to another. A wedding marks that promise. It usually happens with the presence of only the closest of friends and family members. After the actual wedding you celebrate your commitment with a party, like the one we're going to right now."
