I exit my airport terminal and spot my uncle Hank waiting for me. I walk over to him quickly and hug him.
"Hey kiddo."He smiles.
"Hey uncle Hank,"I greet. We walk out of the airport and get into his car. Hank drives us to the district and I grab my bag once Hank parks. We head in together and I stay behind him.
"Voight, where have you been?"An older woman at the front desk asks my uncle.
"Trudy,I went to pick up a special package for Al. Could you get him down here for me?"Hank asks Trudy. She gives him a look but grabs her phone off her desk. She presses a few buttons on it and talks for a couple seconds before putting the phone back on its stand.
"He's coming." She tells Hank. There's a buzz and the noise of a gate slamming shut.
"You needed me Hank?" Dad asks his best friend.
"You have a package." Hank tells dad. Hank then steps to the side and dad spots me in my uniform.
"Hey dad,"I smile. He hugs me tightly.
"My girl..." He mutters in shock, he kisses my forehead. He lets me go.
"You've grown so much." He smiles. He and Hank guide me towards the stairs. Hank enters his pin and then the gate buzzes notifying us that we can go through. We walk up the stairs and it opens up into a joint office. Everyone is hard at work. Hank clears his throat catching everyone's attention. Jay looks at Hank confused and then he spots me.
"Jas!" He cheers happily getting up and hugging me.
"We missed you kid," Antonio comments. They both hug me and I realise someone is missing. I turn to Hank who is next to Jay.
"Where's Erin?" I ask. The room falls into an awkward silence.
"She moved to New York." Jay tells me gently.
"Oh..."I mutter. We soon move on and get to chatting about different stuff. Two people walk up the stairs.
"Hey sarge-"The man starts but he stops once he notices me. "Who is this?" He asks. Hank puts a hand on my shoulder.
"Jasmine this is Adam Ruzek-"Hank points to the brunette man that has a small beard. "And Hailey Upton."He finishes gesturing to the blonde that is giving me the evils. "Ruzek,Upton, this is Jasmine." Hank introduces me to them. I walk away and past Jay.
"Such a downgrade from Lindsey." I mutter on my way past Antonio and Jay. Jay stifles a laugh as I sit at his desk.
"What's so funny halstead?"Upton asks Jay.
"Nothing." He replies. I stand up.
"I said you're a downgrade from Lindsey." I tell her. She glared at me. I say goodbye to the others and leave the precinct with my dad in tow.
