A contract was tangible. Feelings like love was not.

A contract had a beginning and an end, the interval between it will always be known. But in relationships, it could start as easily as the first kiss, the first date, or the first time. It can never be clear when it ends. Sometimes, someone just leaves, without a word, without an explanation. And the other was just supposed to accept it was the end.

The contracts placed were with intent. But outside of the office, their place in each other's lives was a large unknown. It could be heaven, but it could also be chaos. And once broken it could never be fixed again.

Seth wanted to maintain the peace and harmony but Sloane constantly tested him at every turn.

At the breakfast table. Sloane wore a fluffy white pyjama set. He was full of smiles as he leisurely ate to his hearts content. Some part of Seth was enjoying watching Sloane become so comfortable around him. Other parts, feared what this would mean.

"Good morning Seth." Sloane beamed. Filling his plate with pancakes, and strawberries. "Did you see my request to work over time? I have to prepare the proposal for our client next week. And because I missed a day of work, I need to catch up. Even if it is only for a few hours."

"I can stay behind with you." Seth replied, drinking his coffee.

"Why do you need to do that for?" Sloane raised his hand to Seth's forehead."You need to rest. You don't look well."

And whose fault was that? Seth thought. Sloane kept him up all night without even being beside him. He kept trying to understand what Sloane was trying to do. He might have calculated various scenarios to prepare for them but this was not one of them.

"I'll be fine." Sloane hummed. "I think you would be a large distraction. I recall the last over time was very- eventful."

Yes, Seth remembered their last time together on over time and the Halloween party in particular.

Because the reason Sloane was in a good mood was because above the dinning table was the large painting from the halloween party. Larger than he recalled, filling up the blank space on the wall and can be seen from any corner of the dining and living room areas.

Once he noticed it, he never looked at the paining again. But he remembered exactly what it looked like. He remembered the feeling of Sloane on his body. The tightness around him. His lips and his embrace.

Sloane as the consort of the King. And Seth the King who held him. He remembered touching Sloane. Holding him, the heat rising to his cheeks and his unsteady breathing. All these thoughts raging within him, knowing very well, he can't do any of those things now. Not without Sloane's consent or being outside the office. His will, crumbling.

Only Sloane was not fazed by the painting at all. Not as the two contractors were putting the painting up in the background. He watched them closely, making sure they weren't looking at the painting for a suspiciously long time.

"Sir. The painting has been placed as requested." One man approached Sloane.

"Brilliant work. Thank you." Sloane hummed. "The payment has been sent in advance, but of course, please wait for the tip." Sloane walked behind Seth. His hands roaming Seth's body. Slowly, sensually. Seth felt light touches on his cock. Like he would whenever they kissed. He felt Sloane's breath against his neck, like he was about to place his mark. Seth could almost feel his lips.
And then Sloane found what he was looking for, Seth's wallet.
