Jaiyana

Three Weeks Later

Thursday Evening

I slowly tilt my head back, to get a piece of hair out of my face as I mix the contents on a large pot in Lina's kitchen.

"Yo...what are you cooking in here Jai?," Camden said while walking into Lina's kitchen. I look up at him and he smiles softly.

"Red beans and rice," I said.

"Oh shit! Your famous red beans and rice? Oh shit I can't wait," Camden said while rubbing his stomach. I laugh a bit as he moves closer to me and gives me a side embrace.

"You alright?," Camden asked.

"Yes....you good?," I asked.

"Yeah....so....you and uh...what's his name good?," Camden asker awkwardly. I look at him and I laugh softly as I nod my head.

"...Why you want to know? You giving Cairo reports?," I teased.

"What? No. Nah...nothing like that," Camden said.

"Cam....I know when you are lying," I laughed. Cam smacks his lips and shakes his head.

"Gosh he's going through it Jai! Like you have no idea. That man is down fucking bad," Cam said while shaking his head.

"....I'm sure it's not that bad," I said while adding the sausage to the large bot of beans.

"Jai....if i have to hear that song one more fucking time at work....I am going to explode."

"What song?," I inquired.

"Love You Like I Did by 112," Camden groaned. I stop my motions as I turn to look at him.

"....What?," I asked.

"Yes that song...what? You heard it before?"

".....He sent it to me that day he was at the Indian restaurant while I was there with Alex and my dad."

"He sent it to you?"

"Yes.....I liked it but....how often is he playing it?"

"Literally every second while we are at work. As loud as possible. His non signing ass be singing and I have to tell him to shut up it's so terrible," Camden said while shaking his head. I just look at Camden to see if he is telling a story, but I know he isn't lying.

"Damn," I said while shaking my head and mixing the ingredients. That makes me feel kind of bad.

"....Can I ask you a question?," Camden asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"What's up with you and Drea?," Camden asked. I snap my eyes at him and I shrug my shoulders.

"Nothing," I said flatly.

"What does that mean?," Camden asked.

"....Honestly she blocked me when I told her I was moving back to Houston," I said.

"Word?!," Camden asked in shock.

"Yeah."

"...That's fucked up."

"I know...but what can I really expect? Our relationship has never been the same anyway after what happened."

"Yeah....well uh...is this new guy treating you right?," Camden asked.

"He is. Camden I really like him. He is so sweet, caring, funny, smart," I said while smiling.

"Ok...now you doing too much," Camden scoffed.
