Jaiyana and Cairo were once a picture perfect couple. However, after a deep betrayal, they parted ways. But years later when they cross paths again, together they will embark on a journey of forgiveness, trust building, and love that will lead them...
My eyes continuously lift up from my phone as I check the entrance of the cafe I am currently sitting in. I sigh as I check the time. Drea was supposed to be here 30 minutes ago. She agreed to meet me so I could finally get the truth about what happened that night we were celebrating my birthday all those years ago. I tap to our text thread and text her again asking for the second time how far away she is. I tap my leg a few times and sigh after not getting a response for 5 minutes.
"Where is she?," I whispered to myself.
I'm just so anxious to find out the truth. It's honestly going to make me feel like such an idiot if I believed Drea all these years, when I should have believed Cairo. That will honestly break my heart because I have wasted so much time being mad at the wrong person. Plus I don't even know if when I do find out the truth, if it will really matter. I'm still blocked by Cairo and we have had no communication. It feels so horrible being on the opposite side of this. I am starting to feel how horrible Cairo felt when I blocked him all those years ago. I don't like that I'm not able to reach out and talk to him or hear his voice or see him when I want. This is how he felt when I just up and left and went to New York. I sigh as I tap to my photos app. I tap to the pictures that I saved from Atlanta that Cairo sent to me. We look so good together. I miss him so much. I really do. But the status of our relationship is my own doing right now. He literally said he was done with me and that hurts. It hurts so bad. I can't imagine my life without Cairo. I am willing to do anything to win him back. Even if I have to start at just his friend again, I am willing to do that.
I am disrupted from my thoughts by, a text coming in from Drea. I quickly tap to our thread and look over the message.
Walking in now.
Oh god. I feel my heart begin to race as I read over the message. It's been years since I have seen her. I hope I'm not completely overwhelmed with anger when my eyes land on her. I take a sip of the tea I ordered and then take a deep breath. I look towards the door and within a few seconds, my cousin Drea walks into the cafe. Wow. Look at her. She's always been beautiful.

I watch as her eyes travel around and when they land on me, I lift up my hand to wave softly. Her eyes turn to a worried expression as she strolls in my direction. I stand up and I swallow as she gets closer and closer. She stops when she is a few inches from me and our eyes dance across each other's face.
"...Hey," I said softly.
"Hey Jai," Drea said softly.
"...Let's sit. I ordered you an iced chai latte, I know it's your favorite," I said.
"Thank you Jai," Drea said. I sit down at the small booth and Drea sits down across from me. She sets down her phone and she takes a few sips of the drink. She then looks at me and sighs.
