"Incredible." The doctor held Kade's arm as he flipped it over to examine. "I'd at first think this is some kind of birth defect, but your whole body is just...Unique!"

Aino looked ready to punch the guy for getting distracted. "We're not here to have his skin examined. I want to know why he's been getting sick and fainting."

"Oh I've already figured that out." The doctor released Kade's arm and returned to the counter, where an array of simple tools were laid out.

The doctor wore a long black coat that had a white band around the right arm with a leaf printed on it. He had on black gloves and pants, and his red hair was tied back out of his face. He had copper skin and black swirls along his forehead. His eyes were bright green and sparkled with interest every time he discovered something new about Kade's body.

Black was the standard uniform color in this dimension, as opposed to the sterile white that doctors dressed in back on Earth.

Kade had been subjected to several tests and questions. 'What did he eat recently?' 'How much physical activity did he endure today?', and 'How much did he weigh?'

He answered as best he could, though he felt odd with Aino in the room. He was used to the idea that a doctor's appointment didn't require an escort.

"Then what is it? Is he sick? Was it the food?" Aino demanded.

"He's malnourished. Look at him." The doctor gestured toward Kade, who had been sitting on an elevated bed. "He's far too thin and is half the weight that a normal person would be for his size. Not to mention his atrocious diet."

Kade tried to hide his blush, but the doctor was on him like a hawk. Grabbing him by the chin as he examined his reddened cheeks. "Incredible! It appears he also suffers from thin skin." He observed the change in color when he released Kade's face, where his fingers had turned the skin white from the pressure. "Open your mouth."

Hesitantly, Kade did as he was commanded, and was once again grabbed. "Oh. That might be it..."

"What might be?" Aino stepped closer. "Explain what it is you're finding!"

The doctor leaned back, eyed both of them, then focused on Kade. "You're not a Terran, are you?"

Kade yet again displayed his 'color-changing ability' as his face turned white.

Now he felt Aino's eyes drilling holes into him, and Kade wanted to run from the room that instant. He never imagined that this medieval doctor would discover his secret so quickly. He'd half expected the man to do like human doctors did in the old ages and prescribe bloodletting or assume something supernatural.

Having been caught, he had no choice but to hope for the best, so he shook his head.

Aino's eyes widened. "Then...What are you?"

"I'd like to know that myself." The doctor put his hands in his pockets. "I can't help you if I don't know what you are. So please be honest."

"I'm human," Kade explained, but neither of the two onlookers recognized the word.

"Hooman?" The doctor repeated. "What does that mean exactly?"

"I'm not from around here. I'm from...Very far away. And as far as I know, I'm the only one in the kingdom."

"You're a foreigner." Aino put it bluntly. "Why did you lie about that?"

"Because I knew the moment I said something, there'd be all these questions that I couldn't answer. I don't know how to get home, or where it's at. I'm lost. And I don't think anyone is coming to get me."
