the next morning

on the way to the cobra kai dojo

I picked up a coffee for Robby on the way to the strip mall in Reseda. He texted me earlier if I stop by his mothers apartment and drop some of his shit off at the Cobra Kai dojo, he was crashing at.

He told me there was an extra set of keys hidden under the doormat. Great spot, by the way. Because his mother always forgets hers when she comes home drunk, or late. So I used the key and got the stuff he wanted before leaving to go grab a coffee from him from a nearby café.

Now, I was just outside the dojo, grabbing the stuff I put in a bag, and his coffee. Before taking the keys out of my motorcycle and putting my helmet on the seat.

The bell they had on the door jingled as I opened the door with the bag hanging on my one arm and coffee cup in the other.

"You must be Dahlia." Said the man I didn't notice until now. He stood in front of a training dummy, probably practicing before I came in.

"That's me, I just came to drop some stuff off for, Robby." I told the man who I know realize was Kreese.

"How nice, you can just set it by the door over there, I'm sure he'll be up soon." He said, and I followed his instructions putting his belongings in the bag by the back door. But, keeping the coffee cup in hand.

"You don't mind if I wait do you? Just want to see how he's doing."

"Of course not." He said smiling at me.

"Is it true you're a boxer?" He said breaking the ice.

"Yeah, been in championships for a few years now." I replied, standing next to him.

"Really? You win any?"

"All of them." I said smirking at him. Okay maybe talking about my winnings remind

"But you keep going back? Why?" He asked me.

"Good question," I paused for a second, thinking. "The trophies, winning, fighting in general and I haven't found anything else." I replied.

"My student's have shown me videos of your fights. You're a natural cobra, have you ever thought about karate." He asked me before continuing. "I'm sure you'll win. Think about the matches, the trophies, the new acquired skill."

"Actually, I've been thinking about trying Cobra Kai out. But I have a team of boxers already." I said as the smirk on his face faded at the last part but still tried to hide it.

"I'm not sure I'm fully convinced yet." I concluded.

"I'm sure you will be soon." He said in a persuading tone.
