By the time I had finished my work, I assumed Lorenzo would have forgotten about me. Forgotten that he offered to drive me home, quite insistently I might add.

I didn't blame him. He didn't need to offer me anything. He had already done quite enough for me.

However I didn't understand why the idea that he had forgotten made me feel disappointed and sad. It's almost like I wanted to spend more time with him, but I don't know where that odd feeling came from.

I packed up all my stuff and did my final duties. I turned off the lights and went to lock the door when a deep voice from outside made me jump.

"All set Nora?"

I dropped the keys in my hand at the sudden voice, making a surprised sound.

He was here. He came back. To take me home.

"Sorry amore. I didn't mean to scare you." He approached and picked up the keys that had fallen before I could even comprehend what he was doing. His hand slid into my pocket and deposited the keys there. I felt my cheeks burn at the intimate gesture.

He stood, towering over me, looking expectantly. He was waiting for a reply of some sort but I was still trying to gather myself. First from the scare and then from his hand being so close to my body, slipping beneath one layer of my mask.

"N-no worries, s-sorry!" I squeaked out.

One corner of his lip tipped up, almost amused with me.

"You apologize a lot, don't you? And never when needed."

I opened my mouth, to apologize out of habit.

"Please don't, Nora. I beg you. I can't take any more of your apologies. Okay?" His voice still had a hint of playfulness to it, but he seemed to be genuine in his statement.

"Okay." I said, not knowing what else to offer him.

"Come on now, let's get you home, yeah?" He pulled my jacket closed further, doing up the three buttons on the bottom. I stared up at him in awe but quickly shot my gaze away when his eyes met mine.

I could get lost in his eyes, I knew it. They were full of so many emotions I didn't understand. In his eyes, I saw things in his eyes I had never seen before. At least not when anyone was looking at me. Nobody looked at me like he did. Like he saw me. It was truly horrifying.

His hand snaked around my back to guide me but I jumped at the unexpected touch.

Gosh why was I so on edge around him? I knew he could hurt me but still, I wasn't supposed to react at men's touch. That is what gets them angrier and gets me an even worse punishment.

He quickly pulled his hand back and looked at me. I glanced up to see his jaw clenching and eyes darkening, but he didn't say anything about my reaction.

He started walking and I attempted to keep up with his long strides. We quickly reached his car where he opened the door for me and herded me in.

It was dark inside the car and the smell of him was all consuming. I was being suffocated on all sides with his scent and I came to the odd conclusion that I liked it. I inhaled deeply and closed my eyes in contentment.

He made his way around and got in the car, starting it and immediately turning on the hot air. I shuffled my hands together, trying to create warmth in the cool interior.
