1 recipe 2-crust pie pastry
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
6 apples, peeled, sliced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. margarine
Line 9-inch pie plate with half the pastry allowing 1-inch overhang. Combine next 5 ingredients in bowl. Add apples; toss to coat. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate. Dot with margarine. Cover with remaining pastry; seal edge and cut vents. (Designs are always fun! Try a heart or a happy face!) Bake at 425 degrees for 50 minutes until crust is brown.
