Chapter 2

Elizabeth...

I arrived at the Redwood Park for the chili cook-off and there were a lot of people. I saw Cynthia and Maria waving at me as I walk towards them and their families.

Maria was first to introduce me to her husband. I shook his hand said hello and then she shows me her son who looks so adorable, he is 9 months old. Then Cynthia introduces me first to her son he is a 3 yr old toddler, very handsome. She then introduces me to her husband and I shook his hand, but there was a weird vibe when I shook his hand. It wasn't anything bad more like I knew him from somewhere.

He was staring at me then gave me this weird look. I shook it off and then I sat down in a chair next to the girls.

Cynthia said, "Honey can you help me get some more sodas out of the car?" her husband nodded and they both left.

As I was walking back to the car with my husband I asked him "What was that all about and why were you staring at Elizabeth strangely?"

"Honey look calm down, I don't know, but there is something strange about her. Sweetie, I don't know what it is, it's not a mating thing because you are my only mate, but this vibe it's like I know her from somewhere, I just don't know from where," my husband said confusingly.

This is weird I thought to myself.

"Are you sure she is not a wolf Cynthia?" My husband asked.

"No honey I don't sense that in her, hopefully, the Alpha finds something about her and is he coming here to meet her?" I asked him.

"Yes and you are going to have to introduce her to him okay?" Anthony asked nervously.

"Sure no problem I can handle that, don't be so nervous, hunny, we will figure this out," I said to him calmly.

I was thinking to myself as to why my husband and Elizabeth had this strange look in their eyes. I know he is not attractive to her because we are mates we don't find any attraction to others.

Anthony is my soul mate and we were made to be together, but there is something else within Elizabeth that I don't know. After getting a couple of cases of sodas and more bags of chips out of the car, we headed back.

Cynthia came back and sat by me and handed me a cold soda.

"Thank you," I said to her with a smile.

"You welcome sweetie," she responded back to me.

"So what goes on in this chili cook-off?" I asked.

"Families bring their own chili recipes and enter it in a chili contest to see which family recipe wins 1st place," Cynthia said excitedly.

I was looking around there were carnival games, kids rides, live music playing and lots of different foods to eat.

"It's an all-day event and I love when the evening comes because that is when I can dance with my husband on the dance floor," Maria said giving her husband a wink.

I thought to myself how romantic that is dancing with the person you love.

"So all these people around us you know them all?" I asked the girls.

"Oh, yea we are like a big family here and our parents before us did the same," Cynthia answered.

I was sitting there looking around at the stuff going on. I then I told the girls to let's go play some games. They look over to their husbands and told the girls to go ahead that they will watch the kids for awhile. So we left the guys on daddy duties, we were having a blast and we even took pictures in a photo booth acting like crazy teenagers.
