Chapter 1

Elizabeth...

I woke up this morning doing my same routine showered, dressed, coffee then off to work. I have been working at the community hospital here in Central California for over 2 years now. I am 24 years old, 5'7 with straight dark brown hair down to my lower back; my weight is average and skin color tan. Living in California, we get very well tanned, well I know I do especially summer time. I started out working as a nurse, but then I saw how I love to work with children I'm now a Pediatrician Doctor.

My mom raised me alone which was not easy for her, being a single parent and all. She had to work two jobs, but towards the end, she ends up working at one job. Though I hated her hours 7 am, to 7 pm Monday thru Saturday and Sunday was her only off day.

We had a great relationship my mother and I, yes, we would argue but that was only when I was being hard-headed sometimes, but I loved her unconditionally like she did for me. Sunday was our day to hang out and be together. You see I did all cleaning, washing, and cooking during the week and of course on Saturday. Now when Sunday was here all she did was cook our big breakfast and then we would go out spend our day together.

When I graduated in June from high school a month later my mom died from a crazy car accident coming home from work. It was hard that whole month of July, I knew that school was starting for me in August and I know my mom wouldn't want me to sit around and get all depress.

My mom taught me how to be a strong and independent woman during my teenage years. I did have some fun when I was in high school, but she will always say to me to be very careful and be responsible while I was out.

I started college; it was hard at the beginning because I kept thinking about my mom. I had to snap out of it, I needed to keep myself busy so that I wouldn't sit around and be depressed. I had to get a full-time job and did my school at night. I don't have any other family here, just some great friends.

As for a boyfriend, well let's just say that one of my boyfriends had some trust issues. He would always accuse me of cheating on him, but how can that be when I am always working or at school studying. I did find out that it was him cheating on me and after that happen I decided within myself that I don't have time for boyfriends.

You know I can get along with anyone, but when you cross that line where you lie to me and you got caught and you still want to lie about it. Yea, I'm not the one with the problem obviously it's you.

I do have a temper my mom says that I get that from my DNA. Now you are wondering what with the DNA, well that is how I call him instead of father or dad. Never met him, he left my mom. She never had the chance to tell him that she was pregnant with his child.

My mother told me he was a good person never yelled at her or disrespected her. The only time he would ever get mad was on the phone, when he was talking with his family, and after he got off the phone he would tell her that he needed air so he would take off for a couple of hours.

But according to mom, I have his hair and eye color; my mother had black hair and light brown eyes although I wish I had her color instead. I didn't have any siblings and I didn't know if I have grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins.

My mom told me that she left home at 18 yrs old to make her own life and how she also said that sometimes she would have to sleep in her car. She did have one good friend when she started working, and with a little help from her friend they end up being roommates.

And as for my DNA, he does have a family, but not with me. He told my mom he didn't have family living here in Central California just friends. Mom also said that he moved here from a very small town up north. North can be anywhere, anyways they were together for about half a year.
