As the car sped down the empty road, the sound of tires screeching and engines roaring filled the air. Taehyung’s knuckles were white as he gripped the steering wheel, the wind rushing through his hair, the smell of the night air filling his lungs. He wasn’t even sure where he was going, but with Jungkook beside him, laughing in sheer disbelief, he felt like they were in a movie.
"What got into dadda, what got into him?" Jungkook said, his face contorting into a mix of confusion and amusement as he peeked out of the window.
Mr. Jeon, the very image of a villain, was hanging out the window of his car, a wide grin plastered on his face as he fired a fake plastic gun into the air, shouting, "HA-HA-HA-HA-HA! I’M COMING FOR YOU, YOU LITTLE RUNAWAYS!" His cackling filled the air like the sound of a cartoon villain.
Jungkook stared back at him, eyes wide. "Is he—"
"Yep," Taehyung muttered, grinning through his stress. "That’s your dad. And yes, that’s a fake gun."
Jungkook couldn’t help but laugh, despite the situation. "This is insane! Why is he acting like that?" He turned back to Taehyung, shaking his head. "We’re literally in a car chase with my dad and your dad—what is this, Fast and Furious?"
Taehyung shot him a playful smirk, his eyes gleaming. "More like Fast and Ridiculous."
Jungkook was laughing so hard with his eyes closed , he has tears in his eyes out of laughing and Taehyung looked at him so admiringly. He wanted to see this Jungkook, his very own Jungkook
As they zoomed down the highway, the car behind them tailgated hard.
Taehyung couldn’t help but notice the absurdity of the whole situation. It felt like something straight out of a bad action movie. But then, a thought crossed his mind. Without thinking, he stole a quick glance at Jungkook, leaned over, and kissed the back of his hand, a sudden and unexpected gesture that made Jungkook freeze, his heart skipping a beat.
Jungkook blinked, his face turning a little pink as he turned to Taehyung. "What was that for?"
"I figured if I’m going to be chased by your dad and his toy gun," Taehyung said, "might as well make it a memorable night." His lips quirked up in a teasing smile as he returned his focus to the road. "Besides, it’s not every day you get a car chase with your future father-in-law, right?"
Jungkook’s eyes widened, but before he could respond, the unmistakable sound of police sirens blared in the distance.
"Great," Taehyung muttered under his breath, already knowing what was coming next.
Sure enough, the sirens grew louder, and the red-and-blue lights flashed in the rearview mirror.
Taehyung swore softly, glancing at Jungkook with a resigned look. "Well, looks like our Fast and Furious adventure just got a little more complicated."

A few moments later, the cars skidded to a halt on the side of the road as two police officers approached, hands on their hips. Mr. Jeon, still holding his plastic gun, was standing in front of his car like a puppy caught in the act.
One officer raised an eyebrow, looking at Mr. Jeon and then back at Taehyung, who had his hands raised in mock surrender.
The other officer spoke first, a dry tone in his voice. "What’s going on here? We got a report of a high-speed chase... and then there’s this."
Mr. Jeon, still holding his fake gun, puffed out his chest. "I was just—"
"Listen, officer," Taehyung interrupted, raising his hands in calm authority. "There’s nothing to worry about. This whole thing—" He gestured toward the ridiculous scene behind him. "—is a little misunderstanding. He is my... well, my lover’s father . Everyone here is family, in one way or another."
The officers blinked, processing the words, still not sure whether to laugh or take it seriously. The younger officer turned to the other, who just shook his head, suppressing a grin.
"So, you’re telling me that your father-in-law here," the older officer said, pointing at Mr. Jeon with a raised eyebrow, "was chasing you... with a toy gun?"
"Exactly," Taehyung said with a nod, his expression deadpan. "He’s got a thing for dramatic exits. We’re fine, though."
"Right..." The officer gave Mr. Jeon a look of disbelief before turning to Taehyung. "Well, as long as everyone’s okay..." He gave a pointed glance at Mr. Jeon, still holding the fake gun. "But tell him to keep that toy under control. It’s not a great look in public."
Mr. Jeon, not missing a beat, lowered the fake gun and flashed his most charming grin. "Hey, officer, I’m just trying to make things more interesting. Where’s the fun without a little bit of drama?"
Taehyung could only shake his head, pulling Jungkook closer to his side. "We’ll make sure he gets the memo. Thanks, officer."
The officers gave them one last look, clearly amused by the bizarre situation, before getting back in their patrol car and driving off.
Once the sirens faded, Taehyung let out a long breath and turned to Jungkook with a grin.
"Well, that was eventful," he said, his voice light despite the absurdity of the situation.
Jungkook, still wide-eyed from the ridiculousness of it all, simply nodded. "I’m not sure if I should be embarrassed or just impressed."
Taehyung chuckled, squeezing his hand. "Let’s just say it’s a night to remember."
