Jungkook received a call from his dad early in the morning when he was enjoying the sweetness of grapes, sitting on his regular plank with his legs dipped in the water .
His world turned upside down when he saw his father video call him, his face showing worry.
"What happened, dadda ?" Jungkook asked in a worried tone. His dad was a very jolly person, and he never liked this look of worry on him.
"Nothing, my baby," Mr. Jeon sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. In the background, Jungkook saw some people taking the expensive paintings out.
"What's happening, dad? Tell me honestly," Jungkook asked impatiently.
"Koo Koo, we... we went bankrupt," Mr. Jeon said, almost in tears. He wiped his tears with a handkerchief, but they wouldn't stop, and his nose turned red as he tried to stop crying.
"W-what?" Jungkook asked, his heart racing at an inhuman speed.
"Koo, dadda is so sorry that you have to see all of this," Mr. Jeon cried.
Jungkook was in tears seeing his dad like this; he had never seen him like this.
"I am coming back, dad. We will find a way," Jungkook said quickly.
"NO," Mr. Jeon said instantly. "I mean, no, baby, you stay with your hyung, aunt, and uncle. We may not have a roof in Seoul," Mr. Jeon cried.
"Dadda, please don't sell our house. Mom made it with so much love. She lived in that home; it's mom's home. We can't sell it," Jungkook said in tears.
Mr. Jeon gulped. "I will not, Koo Koo. I will find a way." After some more conversation, Mr. Jeon cut the call.
"You made young master cry, sir," one of the employees said to Mr. Jeon.
"Ahhh, I didn't know my son would be this emotional," Mr. Jeon said.
"And bring some ice. Oh gosh, this balm in my handkerchief, my tears are not stopping," Mr. Jeon had put some balm in the handkerchief, knowing very well how much of a bad actor he was, so that tears flowed from his eyes—all this drama to show the real face of Jungkook's friends to him.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was crying and thought of calling his friends, who didn't pick up after knowing that Jungkook was now broke.
He called Yoongi, his true friend who had warned him many times about his group of friends, but he never listened. Yoongi informed him that the news of his bankruptcy was all over, and his friends were gossiping about it.
Jungkook was so hurt and crying when Taehyung came running to him.
"Hey, Koo, what happened?" he said worriedly as he sat near him, to which Jungkook instantly launched himself on him.
"People are bad, they are so, so bad," Jungkook cried into the elder's neck while Taehyung patted his head and ran his fingers through his hair.
After a good cry, Jungkook detached himself from him.
"Will you also leave me because I am poor now?" Jungkook sniffed and hiccuped.
Taehyung chuckled. "No, I will not leave you because you are poor," he said, to which Jungkook again hugged the elder and rested his head on his chest, looking at the flowing river while Taehyung just chuckled and smiled as he ran his fingers through his hair.
When they went home, Jungkook's mood was still sour, and Mr. and Mrs. Kim were so worried to see their baby like this.
As Jungkook was sitting on the couch between Mr. and Mrs. Kim, he wasn't eating anything or saying anything.
"Mumma, papa, how rich are you?" Jungkook asked the elders while Taehyung raised his eyebrow.
"Ehhh, baby, I don't know how to tell," Mr. Kim said after thinking for a bit.
"Means how rich are you compared to my dadda?" Jungkook asked again, confusing Mrs. Kim and Taehyung.
"Maybe twofold richer than your dadda," Mr. Kim said, his hand on his chin as if thinking.
"Okay, perfect," Jungkook beamed suddenly. Mr. and Mrs. Kim were confused but happy to see happiness on his face, while Taehyung was looking at him with a frown.
Jungkook ran to Taehyung and sat so close to him, showing his puppy eyes and a beautiful smile. He knew what he was doing .He held the elder's hands, who was bewildered by the younger's actions.
"Taehyungie hyung," he called, sweetness dripping from his voice, and Taehyung's cheeks turned red, though his face remained poker-faced.
"My lovely Taehyungie hyungie hyung," he said as he rubbed his face against the elder's cheek , whose breath caught in his throat, while Mrs. Kim and Mr. Kim held their breaths in anticipation.
"Taehyungie hyungie hyung, please marry me," Jungkook instantly said.
Now Taehyung couldn't breathe. He gulped.
"W-what are you saying?" Taehyung asked instantly.
"Hyungie... Mumma and Papa are so rich, means you are rich, means your partner will be rich, so I will be your wife, and then I will be rich again, and dad won't have to sell mom's home," Jungkook said with honesty.
Taehyung sighed. "So you want to marry me for my money?" Taehyung asked him, raising an eyebrow.
Jungkook nodded, his hair bouncing on his forehead.
Taehyung almost chuckled. "And what will I get?" he asked the younger, who was behaving like a koala.
"You will get this pretty wife," Jungkook reasoned , pointing at himself .
"And what if I go bankrupt one day? Will you divorce me and marry someone rich?" Taehyung asked.
Jungkook gasped instantly. "Kim Taehyung, what do you take me as? I am not an unfaithful wife; I am a loyal one, and you will not go bankrupt. Papa is wise, unlike my stupid dadda. He will not go bankrupt," Jungkook reasoned.
Taehyung just shook his head at his words and then knocked on his forehead. "Marriage is not a game, Koo Koo," he said as he stood up to leave.
"Mumma, papa, look, hyung is not marrying me," Jungkook complained to Mr. and Mrs. Kim.
