Chapter 24, Picture Frame

*Niall pov*

  The boys were on their way but it would be awhile, they were all doing different things so they had to get together and come here.  I sat in the hallway, nurses passed by wondering why I wasn't in by Grace.  I couldn't take seeing her in pain, even if she was having our child.  After awhile of standing out there the nurse called me in.  Grace was laying down with her head back breathing in and out heavily.  

"Grace?"  I asked her. 

"Niall"  She said relieved.  "I thought you would never come back" 

"Sorry beautiful"  I said nervously.  She put her head back and started to breathe again.  She let out a shout of pain,  I started shaking and she looked at me again.  "This hurts like hell"  She said starting to laugh but then stopped. 

I came over and sat down by her, "Are you almost ready?"  I asked her. 

"yeah the doctor said in the next half hour mayb-"  She yelled again and sat back.  "GET A DOCTOR NIALL"  she screamed.  

I quickly got up and ran, tears started to go down my face.  I'm the reason why Grace is having this pain now. I saw a doctor and quickly got to them "Help!  Grace is going into labor I think!"  I shouted. He looked at me and started to run towards her room.  All the nurses were looking at me and smiling.  They probably aren't used to seeing a celebrity coming in yelling their girlfriend is pregnant.  

It seemed like it all was happening so fast, the pregnancy went by so fast even the tour!  I've gotten so far in the past year,  The tour ended, I'm becoming a father, I'm engaged.  It seemed like my teen years were finally ending even though I wasn't one anymore.  Being in the band made me feel so  much younger but this past year made me realize I have to take responsibility now, I'm not some silly teen anymore  I'm a father and soon to be husband.  

My phone started to buzz, I took it out to see a text from Zayn.   

"Here lad!"  

I replied:  "Alright I'll meet you by the door"  

I walked down towards the doors, going down endless hallways and elevators.  The hospital was so big I could probably get lost in it.  As I walked by fans saw me and started shouting my name, I ignored them completely and kept walking.  It might of been rude to do that but I had to hurry back up there to Grace.  

When I got to the doors the boys were waiting in the lobby, fans were shouting.  Louis turned around and saw me. "He's right there!"  he said quietly to the boys and their girlfriends.  I started leading them up to the room, we all stayed huddled together to avoid being seen by other fans.  We walked up in the birthing section lobby/waiting room.  They all sat down and waited.

"Niall are you excited?"  Eleanor said.

"Just nervous, I can't believe it's actually happening."  I said while chuckling. 

"I know you're nervous we can all tell, are you gonna go in there by her?"  Liam asked. 

"Umm I don't know, you guys know I'm terrible with pain."  I trailed off. 

"Well go check! " Liam shouted.  I turned around and walked in the doors where all the rooms are.  I walked past the nursery.  Babies laid in their beds fast asleep, they all looked so peaceful and beautiful.  While I was looking one of them woke up and started to cry loudly.  I walked away quickly hoping nobody thought I was the reason why he started crying.  For some reason that baby was stuck in my head, the little boy just looked so peaceful  I couldn't stop thinking about it.  

As I got to Grace's room I put my hand on her door handle.  I took a deep breath and walked in, she was sitting on the bed crying.  I walked up to her and sat at the end of her bed.
