My phone started ringing and I looked over to Damon.

"I'm sorry, I have to take this" I gave him an apologetic look, unpocketing my phone. He mouthed the words 'Go ahead' and I let out a sigh of relief as I answered it. "Hello?"

"Hello" Nathan said on the other end of the phone, "I have a job interview today so I am unable to pick you up from school. Do you have someone else who can possibly give you a ride?"

"Yes, don't worry" I lied, "I will be fine. Good luck with your interview!" I hung up and pocketed the device.

"Will you be okay?" Damon asked, just as we made it outside the building, finally. I nodded.

"Yes, don't worry about me" I smiled.

"I'm glad to hear. Oh, look! I'm sorry, my ride is here" Damon apologized, trotting up to a car. I nodded.

I was pacing back and forth, trying to figure out what to do, when I noticed Rei and Cody were kissing. I almost forgot the two were a couple. I sighed. I guess I would walk home.

Fighting back tears, I started walking in the direction of my home. It was a good walk away though.

Wait, which way was home again? Before I knew it, I was lost and it was getting dark. I decided to check my phone. Great, it was low battery.

Ring ring.

Nathan was calling me. I had just clicked answer when my phone died.

"I swear, I have horrible luck!" I muttered.

"And your luck is about to get worse" I hear a strange man say. A rag was moved over my mouth, right under my nose, and before I knew it, I was fast asleep.

"So, what will we do with the mans daughter now?" I was starting to stir.

"We will use her as a hostage, of course. The mans wife use to be apart of the mafia. We need her back" another man stated. I slowly opened my eyes. I was shocked to see I was lying on the cement of a run down building. My wrists were tied behind my back, and there was tape over my mouth.

"Look, the princess has awoken" the first man, the leader, spoke. "Hello, Candice. I am Wilde. My partner here is Krill. Just so we are clear, you most likely won't be getting out of this alive."

I was shocked. How did this guy know the name I was born with? Just who was he?

I settled on glaring.

"Aw, honey, you probably want answers" Wilde said, "and you will get some. You see, your dad has taken something very precious from us."

What? What has my dad taken that they're so desperate for? That they're so desperate enough to kidnap the mans child?

"Your dad married our mafia leader, Kathryn Hades. Also known as Katie" he said. My eyes widened.

"We have been searching everywhere for her. There are rumors she even has a child. You must know about this child. If there's any chance you're getting out alive, you better spill" Wilde said. Krill ripped the tape off my mouth hard, making me wince.

"What are you talking about? I know nothing of that woman's child!" I barked. Wilde just laughed sadistically.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" He asked, "you better answer every question."

"I know nothing about what you're inquiring information" I gritted my teeth. I would not let them hurt Katie, or Rose. They'd have to kill me first before I let that happen.

"Ah!" I shouted in surprise when I felt myself being slapped.

"Answer honestly. Do you know the child's name?" Wilde tried another approach.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I lied smoothly. Krill started whipping me with a whip, making me scream in pain.

"Still not going to answer?" He asked.

"Fuck off!" I growled. I spat out blood as he punched me. He lifted my chin so our faces were mere inches away.

"I would start talking. You might not live much longer otherwise" he said. In response, I just spat more blood out at him, earning me a kick in the ribs from Krill. "Krill, let's leave her. She will come to her senses tomorrow."

I started crying the minute they left, blood dribbling down my mouth. Cody would come rescue me, I know he would. He always does.

I sobbed, curling up as tightly as I can with my hands being tied up behind me.
