The howling wind whipped through the trees, their branches twisting and snapping like brittle bones against the violence of the storm. Dark clouds swirled above camp, filled with unrelenting rain that began its descent in relentless sheets, drenching everything in an instant. The air crackled with tension, electric and charged, as nature unleashed its fury.
The sound of crashing waves against the rocky shore merged with the tumult of thunder, creating a cacophony that reverberated in the cabins. Each boom of lightning illuminated the night sky, casting eerie shadows that danced across the ground and flickered through the tents, their fabric flapping wildly as if desperate to escape the tempest.
An ocean spray, sharp and salty, mingled with the rain. The sea roared, its churning waves clawing at the shore, as if hungry to claim the land for itself.
As the downpour intensified, a bolt of lightning cracked through the sky so loud it woke the campers up. Everyone rushed out of their cabins to witness the commotion.
Annabeth and Percy caught each others eyes before getting Chiron and rushing to Camp Half-blood beach.
As the tide pulled back, something caught Percy's eye—something that didn't belong amid the drifting seaweed and shells. , discovering a figure half-buried in the sand. he dashed toward the water, his heart pounding as he called out, "Alina! Is that you?"
Percy knelt beside Alina, gently shaking her shoulders. "Alina, can you hear us?" He felt a pulse beneath his fingers, weak but present. The sight of her lying helplessly on the sand ignited a determination in him.
Annabeth worked to clear the debris from Alina's body, carefully brushing away the sand and fragments of shell.
"We need to get her help, Percy. She might be hurt or—" Her voice cracked, unable to finish the thought. "We need to get her to the infirmary, now!"
With firm resolve, Percy gathered Alina into his arms. Despite the weight of her limp form, he felt a surge of strength, fueled by adrenaline and friendship. "I've got her. Just lead the way!"
Percy thought it was all his fault for the incident last summer and now Alina was back he wasn't going to let something like that happen ever again.
As they reached the infirmary's entrance, the familiar sights and sounds of the campers surrounded them.
Annabeth shouted for help, her voice echoing through the clearing. "We need a healer! Now!"
A few camp members rushed over, their expressions turning from confusion to alarm when they saw Alina's condition. Chiron, the camp's centaur director, arrived moments later, alarm in his eyes. With practiced ease, he directed the others to gather supplies and prepare for Alina's care.
