"Congratulations." A fimilar voice echoed around the office, Autumn turned around with a playfull smirk on her face. "Thank you." Autumn was careful and toned down her normal level of sarcasm. She knew the blonde was going through a tough time with her father, and the last thing she wanted was to make it worse.

As Siobhan left the office, Autumn moved over to the window where she had a clear view of the preschool room. She stood and watched as Sorscha interacted with Siobhan. Part of Autumn felt the need to keep an eye on the blonde. She knew exactly what her father was capable of, and she felt the need to protect her from him. She also knew that some of the staff hadn't always seen her in the best light, including herself, but she was willing to see past that and see Siobhan for the woman she actually was and not the woman her father had shaped her into.

If a stranger could see straight through her, then why couldn't the people she spent every day communicating with see that she needed support? It was now clear to see that there is more to Siobhan than what you see on the outside. She may seem that she was made of ice, but as soon as that ice was melted, it was clear that she wasn't the monster that she was portrayed to be.

As the two women stood talking about Jamie's day, the little boy looked up from his picture that he had spent ages colouring. It didn't take him long to spot Siobhan stood at the door. "Bonbon!" he squealed before running up to her as fast as he little legs would allow him. As soon as he was close enough, he threw himself at the blonde, trusting that she would catch him. She, of course, caught the brown haired little boy and picked him up, sitting him on her right hip and planting a kiss on the top of his head as he wrapped his arms around her neck. "I never thought i would see this day." Sorscha joked, earning a playful eye roll from Siobhan.

Autumn watched the whole interaction from her office with a smile on her face. "She may never be my stepmother or your grandmother, but she will definitely be an amazing chosen auntie." Autumn whispered quietly, her hand instinctively fell to her stomach, where her bump will soon be. She looked down and smiled softly.

Just at that point, Marjorie walked in with a soft smile. "Im proud of you, I really am." She whispered while placing the paperwork onto Autumns desk. Autumn glaced over her shoulder, looking at Marjorie. "I- " she started before stopping herself and turning away again. "Autumn, you can tell me," she whispered as Autumn nodded slightly. "It doesn't matter. Thank you, Marjorie." Autumn replied coldly.

Marjorie walked towards the door. "My office door is always open." She whispered before walking away. Autumn nodded as she turned back around and watched Siobhan leave the preschool room. A single tear rolled down Autumns cheek as she turned back to her desk. She wiped it away quickly. She was known for not showing her emotions, and that wasn't about to change now.

"Autumn, is everything okay?" Siobhan asked quietly as she stood by her door with Jamie in her arms still. She nodded quickly. "Everything is fine now. What can i help you with?" She asked quickly, almost to quickly. "Well, someone has a question." She whispered as she placed Jamie on the floor.

He looked at Siobhan, and she nodded at him. He walked over to Autumn as she knelt down to his level. "Hey, mister," she smiled softly at him. Autumn had always been amazing with children. No matter what, she somehow just softened with them. Jamie handed her his picture. "Can you be my auntie?" He asked quietly before running back to Siobhan, hiding nervously behind her legs.

"Jamie, come here, sweetie." She whispered before patting her lap. The little boy slowly walked back over before sitting down. "I will be your auntie as long as your mummy's are happy for me to be your auntie." she told him softly before. "Mama?" he asked, looking at Siobhan. She looked shocked to start with before nodding at the pair sat on the floor. A smile spread across the young boys face as he stood up and wrapped his arms around Autumns neck tight. "Right mister, let go of Auntie Auts and go and find your bag from your peg while i talk to Autumn." She told him as he ran out of the room.

Once he was gone, Siobhan helped Autumn off the floor. "Well, this wasn't what i was expecting. I just came to check on you because i thought i saw you crying earlier, but now this has happened." Siobhan spoke calmly. "I just was overthinking and got overwhelmed. It's a conversation i should have with Marjorie, but it can wait. Thank you, " she whispered the last part as Siobhan pulled her in for a hug.

Just as Marjorie came to say bye to Autumn for the day, she gently grabbed her arm. "Autumn is everyth-" Marjorie started to question before being interrupted. "- im scared i dont want to let you down again. I will never forget how you helped me through everything. What if I do it again?" She asked all in one breath. Marjorie looked at Autumn before quickly hugging her. Marjorie knew Autumn wasn't a fan of physical affection, but at a time like this, it felt right. "Oh Auts, it will be okay. We are all here for you and baba okay." She whispered as her hand slipped down to her stomach, just resting there. "If something happens, then you will have your family all here with you." Marjorie continued before feeling Autumn move slightly, signalling it was time to let go. "Thank you, Marjorie. I appreciate that." She whispered.
