It was a normal Tuesday for Carly. She woke up and took herself to work like she did every morning. She had a funny feeling as the day went on, but she just brushed it off and carried on like normal. She put a smile on her face and left her problems at the door like she had been taught to do over the years.

Marjorie and Autumn were both finishing up reports in their office when the phone rang. "I will get it." She told Autumn as Marjorie finished the sentence she was typing before answering the call. As the woman on the other end of the phone explained the situation, tears formed in the managers eyes. After a couple of minutes, the phone call ended, and Marjorie took a deep breath. "Autumn, get Reece here now, please!" she told her sternly while fighting back tears. Autumn knew better than to ask questions when Marjorie was in this kind of mood. She simply picked up the phone, calling Reece and just explaining what she knew.

Just as Reece made his way into the office, Marjorie finally broke down. "Reece, please. Y-you need to take Carly home. Right now, her dad has died suddenly, and she needs to go home to say final goodbyes before you know. They take him away. Please, Reece. She doesn't know anything yet," Marjorie sobbed. Reece walked up to Marjorie and wrapped his arms around her tightly. "I will deal with Carly. Auts, can you please just look after Marj or swap with Char? " Reece asked. "I will stay with her. Ring me.." she told him sternly as she moved to hug Marjorie.

"I shouldn't be hurt by this, i didn't even know the guy. it's just poor Carly and now Reece. I dragged him into it. He has the worst part of taking her home and seeing her family." Marjorie sobbed into Autumns chest as she held her. "Reece is the man for the job. He will be okay, and he will be back to see you, so dont worry about him." Autumn whispered quietly while fiddling with Marjories hair.

A week after everything had happened, Carly was back at work. She was numb, but work was the best place to be. While on her lunch break, she walked into the office, leaning against the doorframe. "Hey, my love," Marjorie spoke softly. "Hi Marjorie. Um Autumn, when you moved out, how did you do it?" She asked quietly while looking down. "Well, i spent a long time looking to start with. I planned it when i was 15 and got there by 18. Why?" She asked, but Carly shook her head quickly before going to leave. "Carly, you asked me a question, and i answered. I asked you one so i would like an answer." Autumn told her. "I can't tell you, not really." Autumn gave her a stern look, and Carly sighed.

"Mum doesn't love me anymore, and now dad's dead. She loves my sister, she does everything for her but she just forgets me. She forgot to cook for me the other day. She made enough for two, but thankfully, Charlotte called about pizza at hers. I need to get out. I can't stay where I am abused." Carly rambled before letting it slip. She covered her mouth with her hands quickly. "Carly, what do you mean by abused?" Autumn asked before reaching her hand out to Carly. She took her hand and squeezed it slightly. "I-i can't," she mumbled as Marjorie walked towards her, Carly tensed up, and Marjorie stood closer. She quickly wrapped her arms around her gently.

Autumn stood up and locked the door. "Okay, sweet, it's just us in here." Autumn whispered quietly while placing the hand on her back, but Carly flinched as she did. "Carly, let me see," Autumn whispered, but Carly shook her head. "It was all my fault, she didnt mean to." Carly told her before turning around in Marjories arms. "Carly, come here." Autumn whispered as she held her arms open.

"Im not going to do anything unless you say it's okay, now let's calm down." She hushed. "If you looked, could i hug Marjorie at the same time?" She mumbled nervously. "Oh darling, we would shut off the blinds before we did anything. The door is already locked." Marjorie whispered before shutting all the blinds.

"Dont hate me." she whispered before making her way to Marjorie and holding onto her tighter. "Okay, Carly, you tell me when you are ready. It is all on your terms." Autumn hushed. "J-just do i-it." She mumbled nervously as Autumn lifted up the back of her hoodie. She gently placed a soft kiss as the top of her back before pulling her hoodie back down. "Car-" Autumn started before being cut off. "I upset her, i was being hard work and sat in the living room instead of my room because i was cold and she shouted at me to leave but i didnt so she used her belt and and and..." she couldn't finish her sentence as the memories all came flooding back to her.

"Okay, Carly, it's okay. I think we need to get Reece here." Marjorie whispered as Carly nodded ever so slightly.

Reece knocked on the door, and Autumn let him in. He looked around the room at everyone before his eyes landed on Carly. "Cars?" He offered his hand out to her to, which she quickly took. "You guys tell him." She mumbled, and Autumn nodded.

"Im telling you, once, and that is it and no stupid questions. Her mum lost interest in Carlys welfare, and well, just think of our father." She whispered to him. Reece looked at Autumn in shock before moving closer to where Carly and Marjorie were stood. Wrapping his arms around the both of them.

"Carly, do you want to come and stay with me and Marj? We can set the spare room up for you, and i will look at shifts so you are always on the same with Marjorie." Reece asked softly. Carly nodded slightly before tears rolled down her cheeks. "Thank you," she whispered before sniffling. "Marjorie, i am fine here, and she's not in ratio. Take her home." Autumn whispered.
