Earth's POV:

Me, Mars, and Venus all played cards together and currently I was in last place, as the 45th round went on I tried focusing on the cards in front of my face but my mind kept on wandering back to one particular rocky planet that was not with us today, Mercury.

He had tried to convince the sun to let him play with us but his foot stayed down, I've always felt bad for the small rocky..but recently I've began to notice how he's always acted..strange around me, for example whenever I got even remotely close to him he'd back away like 10 feet! Or sometimes I would catch him staring at me and if we made eye contact he'd immediately look away all blushing and stuff.

It wasn't that hard to conclude that he must've a crush on me. 

I really had to be deep in thought because I felt a bunch of cards smack my forehead and unnatural speeds.

Earth: OW-UGH WHAT THE F-

Venus: EARTH ITS YOUR TURN 

EARTH: JEEZ YOU DONT GOTTA YELL AT ME 

I look at my deck and slam my card down.

Earth: THERE, YA HAPPY NOW?!

Venus: Yes.

Earth: ugh!

Mars: Heh, what's got you all up in thought Earth?

Earth: Oh nobody.

Silence

Venus: But we didn't ask if you were thinking about anybody.

Oh fuck.

Mars: Ooohoho~ who's the lucky planet~

Mars nudged my arm.

Venus: Let us guess, let us guess, hmm Uranus?

Mars: Saturn? I'd lokey understand.

Earth: Ugh-No and I'm not gonna tell you guys anyway-

Mars: Mercury..?

Venus: No wa-

Venus stopped midway through his sentence after seeing my face turn tomato red.

Venus: NO WAY! MERCURY?

Earth: HUSH HE MIGHT HEAR YOU!

Mars: We're far enough from him so he can't hear us, so start speaking we're all ears.

At this point the game had paused and all eyes were on me. 

Earth: W-well I've never put that much thought into it until recently, and what I mean by recently I mean by a couple seconds ago, but I've noticed how he's always acted like kinda skittish around me, not like scared skittish like how he gets around you Venus, no offense.

Venus: None taken.

Earth: But like a flustered? Kind of skittish, like I've caught him staring at me, whenever I barely get close to him he moves back like 100 feet and over all just strange..

Mars sat there in a thinking position until Venus decided to speak up.

Venus: Well do you feel the same way?

Earth: I-Uh.

Hm, I guess I've never actually thought about Mercury as any more than a friend, but the more I think back on it the more I felt my face heat up, all of the times he's helped me throughout the moon revolution, how he helped prevent my attempt along with Luna, I've never came to appreciate him for all his hard work.

Earth: Uhh guys I gotta go like NOW.

I zoomed off towards Mercury's orbit, I was so lucky that Sun was facing the other way or else me and my earthlings would've been obliterated, I stopped right in front of Mercury winded, hunched over I looked up at his shocked face.

Mercury: E-Earth? Are you ok, why'd you come over here running?! Gasp did something happen, does someone need help?!-

I cupped his hands in mine.

Earth: Mercury, I am so sorry I never thanked you for all of the hard work you've done for me, from helping stop my attempt, to going out of your way to give me therapy when you didn't have to really helped shape me into the planet I am right now, please your such a pure and caring planet none of us deserve you!

I take in a sharp gasp of air after I empty out all of my thoughts at once, open my eyes to a very red and VERY flustered Mercury, he looked like he'd pass out any second.

Mercury: E-Earth I-I-I-I.

Mercury closed his mouth to prevent him from embarrassing himself even more, it took him awhile to collect himself before replying.

Mercury: Thank you Earth, it's kind of refreshing to hear someone here at least appreciates all of my hard work, but I couldn't stay mad since I really was doing all of it out of the kindness of my heart, so thank you once again Earth, for finally seeing..me.

His eyes softened along with mine, it felt so refreshing watching him nearly spill out all of his guts, I was just about to say something before Mercury pulled me into a hug, despite how small he was, his hugs were always the warmest (sorry mars).

Mercury: Earth I've also got something to tell you, I...like you, like a lot and I really understand if you don't feel the same way, hell who would ever be attracted to such a small planet?

I push Mercury back and cup his chubby face bringing it closer to mine.

Earth: I would, and don't you ever talk about yourself like that again.

His usual tanned face became a bright red once again, I smile at his silliness before engulfing him into a tight hug, kissing his forehead as I do. I stroke my hand through his fluffy hair, sometimes brushing against one of his wings at the side of his head.

Earth: Maybe you need a therapy session on self confidence.

Mercury chuckled before replying.

Mercury: Maybe I do..
