ELIJAH stood tall and composed, yet radiating restrained fury. Klaus was across the room, his posture casual but his eyes watchful. Hope lay unconscious on a nearby couch, her breathing steady, the chaos of the night momentarily resting in her stillness.
Elijah's gaze swept over the room, his sharp eyes narrowing on Klaus. "You look surprised to see me," Elijah began, his voice calm but edged with venom. "So, it wasn't you that removed the dagger from my chest?"
Klaus let out a low chuckle, stepping toward a nearby table and pouring himself a drink. He held up the glass, gesturing slightly toward Elijah. "You look like you could do with a drink," he said smoothly. "And we have a lot to discuss. So, shall we?"
Without warning, Elijah's fist shot forward, slamming into Klaus' face with the force of centuries of pent-up anger. The blow sent Klaus flying across the room, his body crashing through a nearby window. Shards of glass rained down as Klaus groaned, pulling himself up with an annoyed expression.
"Easy!" Klaus snapped, brushing glass off his coat. "I just finished renovating."
In a blur of supernatural speed, Klaus rushed at Elijah, aiming to pin him, but Elijah countered. The two collided with a deafening crash, sending Klaus sprawling into a wooden table that splintered under the impact.
