THE WOODS of Mystic Falls were quiet, save for the faint rustling of leaves underfoot as Matt and Caleb strolled along the narrow path. Caleb's breath puffed in the cool air, and his hands were shoved deep into his jacket pockets. They followed the directions from a cryptic text message Stefan had sent them earlier, leading them deeper into the woods.

As they rounded a bend, the sight of Elena and Caroline standing together greeted them. The two were huddled in conversation, their expressions tense.

"Hey," Matt called out, breaking the silence. "What's with the mysterious secret meeting text?"

Elena glanced over her shoulder, looking equally uncertain. "I don't know. Stefan just said to meet here," she replied, shrugging.

Caleb huffed in mild irritation, adjusting his jacket against the chill. "Could've at least given us some details," he muttered under his breath.

Before anyone could reply, Stefan and Damon appeared from the shadows, a large duffel bag slung over Stefan's shoulder. They approached the group briskly, their presence immediately commanding attention.
