When Gabriel left his house he told his parents he was gone. Out. Would never in a million years come back. Because it's true. He didn't. And he wouldn't.

But he asked Castiel if he would come with him. Not because he was younger. No. Because Gabriel did not want Castiel to suffer another year in his parents clutches.

He would gladly have taken Anna and Balthazar but they were in middle school and not old enough for him to have to take care of. Castiel he was legal age to leave.

He hated living at home as much as Gabriel did. Neither could hate it as much as Lucifer did but they haven't seen, heard or looked for Lucifer in years. Then there was Micheal but he would call every so often.

Gabriel never understood why Castiel didn't come with him. So 6 months after he left, he was in Stanford college. Not because he was extremely smart, which surprisingly he is, but because his parents would never look for him there...if they looked for him. 6 months, only 6 he then called home.

He knew his parents wouldn't be home at the time and Castiel would be out of school probably studying or something. When he called Balthazar picked up.

"Hello?" Balthazar voice spoke. He was in 8th grade but he sounded like he was 5.

"Hey Balthy, its Gabriel"

"GABE!!" The younger boy cried out. Gabriel smiled.

"The one and only, now Balthy, where is Cassie?" There was a pause.

"Isnt he with you?" He froze.

"No...hes not..."

"Well, he left, like, 3 months ago. I assumed he went with you..." He felt a pang of...hurt...sadness...?

"Oh, well, he never told me..." He said carefully.

"Oh...Gabe?"

"Yeah little dude"

"Uh...I was...uhm wondering when I graduate Highschool can I stay with you...? Dad...he's been getting mean...when he's home that is..." Gabe's heart clenched. God I wish I could take him with me right now, he thought but it was the first semester of school and he hasn't even settled in yet.

"You know what, I'll make you a promise. When you graduate. Hit me up and I'll pick you up and we can sail into the sunset together okay?"

"That sounds...so...AWESOME! okay Gabe, bye!!!" He hung up the phone.

Castiel left...why didn't he tell me...or contact me...does he...not like me? Is he embarrassed of me. hate me? Gabriel's mind drifted into a sea of bad conclusions...

Gabe got up and put clothes on then made his way to the kitchen. So little Castiel is getting married...then it hit him

Castiel is marrying a man...is that why he left and didn't tell anyone? I mean I didn't tell him I was bi...I assumed everyone knew that...but Castiel left because he was gay? Was that it?

Gabriel's mind went whirling again and he snapped out of it. Maybe he should call Castiel..tell him he can't go...or something...yeah...

He picked up his phone and hit redial. It rang once. "Gabe?"

"Hey, uh...Cas..uh" Gabe licked his lips.

"Gabe please I'm sorry please don't back out your the only family who I can count on to go please..." Cas sounded sad...broken?

"No...thats not why I'm calling, uh I wanted to invite you and you boy- fiancé over, my roommates an annoying asshole but you should come over..." Damn it Gabriel.

Castiel laughed. "Okay, who's your roommate." Gabe rolled his eyes.

"Just some attract-" he stopped himself and cleared his throat.

"He's an annoying moose and I hate him."

"How are you roommates with a moose...are you studying animals? Are you in college?"

He rolled my eyes. Oh clueless little Castiel, still the same.

"No. He is not a real moose his just really tall and muscular, he's got like a really nice body an-" he cut himself off again. Why is he speaking the things that are never to be spoken of?!

"Yes..to answer your question..I'm in college. And I hate my roommate and I really hope he's not around when you visit. Uh when are you visiting?"

He could hear Castiel's muffled voice before he spoke again.

"What college are you at? We can decide that way, and I think you should change your opinon on this moose you are living with. Hate is a strong word and he can't be that bad."
Gabe rolled my eyes. "He is that bad. I've lived with him for 3 years. And I'm at Stanford university."

It sounded like Cas choked and sputtered (don't.you.dare.)

"W-what?" I frowned.

"Why whats wrong with Stanford?" he said defensively.

"Nothing! I just mean...you...and that school is...uhm" he glared at the wall.
Gabriel scoffed.

"Just like everyone else you didn't think I was smart enough to get into a college huh?" He said sarcastically. "Whatever..just when can you visit?"

"Gabe you know that's no-"

"When. Can. You. Visit." Gabe said very clearly.

"Uhm tomorrow afternoon...my fiancé has a little brother he hasn't seen in awhile who goes to the same school." Castiel sounded a little hesitate.. "I really didn't mean it like that Gabriel..."

"Whatever, I'll see you tomorrow." Gabe hung up the phone and chucked it behind him.

"Ow! Really Gabriel? Fuck you." The moose has returned.

Gabe turned in his chair. "Oh looks like my aim is perfect...you see I'm practicing for moose hunting season" he smirked. Sam said nothing just put the phone on the table and opened the fridge.

"Why are you home early?" Damn it Gabriel it sounds like you care.

"Why do you care?"

"I don't." For some reason Sam's heart sort of sunk. No it didn't shut up.

"Are you around tomorrow?" Shit Gabriel that sounds bad.

"I don't have any classes, I figured I stay home...I mean here and get some sleep or something...wait why am I saying all of this, just...why do you ask?" Sam was having an internal battle. Holy shit I called this place home. No this is a dorm with the short man. Not a home.

Gabriel noticed him saying home and allowed himself a small internal smile. Just this once. "I have people coming over."

Sam rolled his eyes. "Who..not that I care but I want to know who's going to be in our hou- dorm." Fucking hell Sam. Stop doing that.

"Uh...just uhm, my brother..." Gabriel's voice kind of cracked and he hated himself for that. "Yeah, so I'm going to go and uh." When his gaze met Sam's....
