"Vi, wake up! It's almost noon"
A voice called out as Vi continued to sleep soundly, her hands behind her head as she lay comfortably on the rickety metal bed frame. Until suddenly, she felt the bed frame tip beneath her as she hit the solid ground below with a thud. Opening her eyes immediately, shocked at how she had just been disturbed, she saw Vander standing over her. His hair no longer fully dark as he was beginning to show his age. After realising who stood before her, she heaved a frustrated sigh, if it were anyone else, she would have given them a royal whooping, but not Vander.
"Vander.. Why do you have to be like that?"
She said, rubbing her eyes as she climbed to her feet, fixing the bed frame before grabbing her jacket from the chair that sat beside it.
"You never get up, and Sevika is getting impatient. This is important"
Vander said. Vi threw on her branded leather jacket carelessly, rolling her eyes. Causing Vander to step forward and straighten it out for her.
"She's never been known for patience, I don't know why you're not the leader.."
The pink haired woman admitted as the duo turned and left the small, plain-looking trailer Vi had been staying in. It wasn't much and it had definitely seen better days, but it was home.

Upon leaving the room, they were met with a dull sky, dark clouds hiding away the sun as everyone outdoors hid under a tarped cover, sitting at old benches and eating food.
"I don't lead because no one wanted me to, it was a vote, remember?"
Vander reasoned, sounding fed up as though he had been over this hundreds of times with the young woman.
"Come on, you know that's a load of shit. The group would be better off with you leading it"
"As far as the votes go, not enough people agree with that. Come on, get some food, and make it quick. You're late enough as it is"
Vi nodded and ran ahead, approaching a broken down food truck that was revived, although the food was far from hot, it still tasted good.

After grabbing a quick bite to eat, she rushed back to Vander's side, eating while they walked to their destination.
"This is serious Vi. You're an adult now, its obvious your skills aren't in farming"
Vi cringed at the thought. When she turned 18, she was assigned to help cultivate crops with the farming team, but it never went well. Every day she seemed to make things worse rather than help.
"Don't remind me..."
"There's a good chance that Sevika will put you outside the walls, but you need to get serious about this. It's not the same out there as when you were children. It's worse. The infected outnumber us so you need to be vigilant. And the infected isn't our only problem"
Vander warned, pulling a groan from Vi's throat. She knew he meant well, but she was tired of hearing this talk day in and day out.
"Have they been back?"
"Not here. But apparently they're getting closer. Looting our areas and leaving us with very little to live off of. Piltover is no joke Vi, you need to be careful"
Vi nodded. Although she had never encountered anyone from Piltover, ghost stories have been passed around Zaun for some time now, so she was well aware of what they were capable of.

Vi looked around as they continued walking along the open patch of grass.
"Where's Powder?"
She asked, finishing her food and dusting her hands off of her jeans
"Helping some of the guys out. I heard they're picking her brains in order to develop a new weapon"
"I told her not to get involved with things like that. I don't want her to be the reason our demolition guys get to level a building with one bomb"
Vi ran her fingers through her hair, worried.
"She's old enough to make her own decisions now, Vi. This isn't the old world no more..."
Finally, they made it to the building they were meant to be at a while ago, if Vi hadn't slept in.
"...If it makes you feel any better. I don't like it either, but you and I both know Powder will do whatever she wants to do"
Vander empathised with the young adult as he entered the building, holding the door open for Vi. Earning a sad smile in response. They made their way through the building and to the room they were required to be in without another word. Both of them had a lot on their minds, and Vi had bigger issues than Powder at that point in time, all she could do was hope the teen wouldn't get herself into trouble. She wasn't a kid anymore but she was only 18, so she was hardly full of wisdom yet. Still, Vi hoped she knew how to do the right thing.
