After what felt like forever, Vi began to regain her consciousness, she squinted her eyes, a bright room blinding her as she came to. All Vi could hear was muffled chatter, back and forth between what sounded like a man and a woman, distant but not out of earshot before the sound of a closing door echoed throughout the room, she was now alone. It took a few minutes for her to adjust to the light, her eyes feeling dry as she raised her arm to rub them. Her arm felt as though it had bricks attached to it as she let it fall back on the comfy mattress she laid on. This minor detail confused Vi, even her mattress in Zaun wasn't as comfy as the one she currently laid on, where was she. Immediately, she shot up, remembering what had happened to her last as she looked around. Although her eyes stung with how tired she was and all she could feel was a dry sensation in the back of her throat, she got her bearings on the room. It looked like some sort of improvised medical room, but the real name of it was on the tip of her tongue. After assessing where she was, Vi's eyes travelled down the bed. Thin blankets with tiny holes covered her toned body, the holes made it so her body could breath while staying warm. She pulled back the blanket, revealing that her shirt was gone, and she was only covered by wrappings that held her chest place, as well as another bandage over her lower abdomen area, covering her wound that she assumed was still on the mend. She had no idea how long she had been here, only that she was hungry, and needed a drink. Something strong would be nice after everything she had endured.

The door opened at the opposite side of the room, but Vi wasn't interested, her eyes remained facing forwards, deep in thought of her sister. Worry for Powder's well being formed a seed in Vi's stomach and she suddenly felt sick.
"Vi?"
Her eyes snapped up at the sound of her name being called out by a feminine voice, the tone almost relaxing as Vi turned in response.
"You're awake"
Caitlyn stood before her, only this time, she wore fresh clothes and her hair fell down, framing her face perfectly as the silky navy blue hair rested on her shoulders.
"Seems that way.."
Vi scoffed, holding her side as she adjusted, sitting up properly as she used the headboard to support her back.
"How are you feeling?"
Caitlyn asked as she approached the bed, gesturing the plastic garden chair that sat beside it
"Can I?"
Vi nodded, allowing Caitlyn to take a seat as she watched her movements. Her slender figure moved in an almost mesmerising fashion as she adjusted the hem of her shirt, making sure it wasn't folded up weirdly at the back before taking a seat. She sat with a straight posture as she looked at Vi, her knees pressed together as she rested her hands on her lap.
"I feel like I got shot.. How long was I out?"
Vi asked, rubbing her eyes and moving her hair out of her face. She didn't need a mirror to know that she looked like a mess.
"Three days"
"Three-?!"
Vi's words caught on the dryness of her throat as she exclaimed, making her cough as she held her wrapped hand over her mouth, shocked by Caitlyn's answer. Making Caitlyn jump out of her chair and pat her on the back, thinking that she was genuinely choking. Vi's arm came up, almost keeping Caitlyn away from her as she composed herself, which was an action Caitlyn took notice of and frowned for a moment. She didn't understand why Vi suddenly didn't want her help.

After putting the brakes on her coughing fit, Vi looked up at Caitlyn with a majorly concerned expression.
"I need to get my sister"
Caitlyn's expression faltered for a moment, Vi had mentioned her sibling before passing out days ago, but Caitlyn got the impression that she was someone who was no longer among the land of the living.
"Where is she?"
She queried, although she already knew the answer.
"Take a guess"
Caitlyn took a deep breath before sitting back down in the flimsy, plastic seat.
"You can't go back. If what you told me was true-"
"It was true"
Vi snapped, offended
"...Then they'll kill you"
Caitlyn finished, trying not to let herself get frustrated at being interrupted. Vi's eyes widened at Caitlyns words, why did she care? She barely knew her. The fact that she even bothered to check on the Zaunite told Vi that Caitlyn cared for her, even if she barely knew her, but why?
"That's true, but it's not your concern. You helped me already, and you have your own people to think of"
Vi laid out the harsh truth before throwing her legs over the side of the bed, climbing to her feet before realising that she was in her underwear. She looked down at her lack of attire before looking at Caitlyn with a frown. Caitlyn's eyes shot between Vi's body and the gaze that met hers, realising what she was about to ask.
"Your clothes were filthy.. They're over there, I had them cleaned. And there's a new shirt, since I ruined your old one"
Vi looked at where Caitlyn pointed, on a small dresser in the corner of the room sat a small pile of nicely folded clothes.
Caitlyn rose from her seat and retreated to the side of the room turning her back as she gave Vi privacy to get changed.

Caitlyn began tapping her foot on the floor pensively, Vi's words repeating in her head before she cleared her throat.
"Do you really think I went through all of that effort to save you so you can go and get yourself killed? You were really heavy when you're deadweight, you know?"
Caitlyn looked down at her arms that she had crossed over her chest, shaking her head before turning around. For a second, she caught a glimpse of Vi's back, which was covered in ink as she raised her arms to pull the shirt over her head. The sight of her back muscles flexing as she moved made Caitlyn's face turn beet red as she turned back around, closing her eyes as she calmed herself down. She was baffled by her own behaviour. This woman is a Zaunite, grouped with the same people who killed countless amounts of Caitlyn's friends and ally's. That wasn't true.. deep down she knew every word that left Vi's mouth was nothing but the truth. She wasn't like them. After finishing getting changed, Vi turned to face Caitlyn.
"I know it's going to get hairy in there if I just waltz in. But that's why I'm going to sneak in, there's a flimsy wooden panel patching up a hole in the perimeter that they have nailed into the wall until they get the supplies to properly repair it. I'll go tonight. And I'll be in and out with Powder before they even notice I'm there"
Vi said before a dizzy spell washed over here, forcing her to lean back against the dresser that was now behind her.

Caitlyn turned around to look at her with furrowed brows and shook her head in reply.
"And how do you expect to do that? Do you even know how much blood you lost? You should be dead. God knows how you're not"
Caitlyn argued, frustration lacing into her voice as she spoke.
"Do you have a better idea? I can't just leave her there! If Mitch gets back, and feeds Sevika lies, who knows how they'll punish Powder in my place"
"That's if they do.. Do you even hear yourself? You were the problem for Mitch, not your sister"
"But he threatened her, I don't know what's happening while I'm stood here arguing with you"
Vi snapped, balling up her hand into a fist before slamming it into the dresser angrily. This action took Caitlyn by surprise but she could understand Vi's frustrations.
"Look.. Take a few days to rest"
"But-"
Caitlyn raised her voice to overpower Vi's complaint.
"Take a few days, at least wait until you're able to pull this off. If you do that I'll help you get her back. I promise"
Caitlyn said, approaching Vi and holding out her hand to seal the deal. Vi looked at Cait's hand, which was covered with a fingerless glove before looking back up at her face.
"Why would you do this for me? You hardly know me"
Vi questioned, cautious of Caitlyn's act of generosity.
"Because there's not many good people left in this world. You're angry, but you have a good heart. I admire that much about you"
Caitlyn admitted.

Suddenly, flashbacks of Vander entered Vi's head, that was one thing he would constantly compliment her on whenever she got into trouble, telling her not to worry, that although what she did was wrong, she had good intentions, because he knew she had a good heart. She paused, reminiscing on these memories before taking Caitlyn's hand into her own, shaking it firmly. Caitlyn noticed the size difference in their hands, Vi's hands were slightly bigger than her own, and much stronger as she noticed the ragged wrappings that covered them.
"We should change those"
Caitlyn said, looking at the dried blood that dirtied the material along Vi's knuckles.
"Why?"
"Because they look dirty. And you said you've been out there for days, god only knows how bad they smell"
Caitlyn said, making Vi snatch her hand away and examine the wrappings herself before looking up at Caitlyn. Although she looked slightly offended, she couldn't deny the truth in Caitlyn's words.
"I don't suppose you have any spare lying around?"
She asked.
"We do, actually. Follow me"
Caitlyn retreated to the door and swung it open, gesturing for Vi to leave before her as she waited. Vi smiled suddenly, before pushing herself off of the dresser and walking towards the door.
